Parent Meetings:

I will be hosting 4 parent meetings for NEW families only!!  Returning Sharks families are welcome to join us, but not required.

April 23rd - 5:15pm & 6:15pm

April 25th - 5:15pm & 6:15pm

Only ONE meeting is STRONGLY recommended to attend, your choice which meeting you attend.

Practices:

1. We strongly recommend that your swimmer be on the pool deck 10-15 minutes prior to the start of practice.

They will line up on the far wall alongside the pool.  Please have their suit on, goggles, cap, and equipment bag on the pool deck ready to swim.  A coach will meet them and give any instructions/announcements.  They will also start with some dryland stretching to get them warmed up prior to the start of practice.

2.  Parents are NOT allowed on the pool deck during practice.  Viewing from behind glass is the only way to watch your swimmer during practice.

3.  Attendance is taken at each practice, if you will be gone for more than a week, please email Katie as soon as possible and she will let the coaches know.  Daily absences do not need to be reported to Katie.

Equipment:

Every swimmer must have their own cap and multiple pairs of goggles.  Coaches are not allowed to borrow goggles out to swimmers. Team caps will be handed out at your swimmers first swim meet.  Any cap can be worn at practice.

We have a team site on Swimoutlet.com.  The Sharks receive 10% back on all sales purchased through this site.  Search for our team:  Southdale Sharks under the “Teams” tab.  Click on your practice group and the recommended equipment will be listed.

1.      Equipment is an essential part of our practices.  You will be required to purchase equipment according to your practice group:

a.      Novice = kickboard, fins, mesh bag

b.      Age Group = kick board, fins, mesh bag, pull buoys for AG2

2.      Everyone will also need the following:

a.      Goggles, swim cap, plastic water bottle

 - It is always a good idea to have extra goggles and cap in your locker in case something breaks

 - Team Caps will be handed out at our first meet.

3.      LABEL EVERYTHING!!!!

Elsmore Swim in Minnetonka and Apple Valley also have a great supply of swimming equipment and suits.  The Sharks do not have an account with them but feel free to check them out.

Please contact me with any questions you may have, I am here to help you navigate your new swim team experience!

Welcome back and I will see you on the pool deck this week!!
