Dec 28 - Deadline to register for Shark HOST Meet 

Jan 3 - Sharks HOST - Marlins & Mariners

 

MEETS - 

Meets are coming fast and furious this month during the holiday season.  

Dates are above for the deadlines for these meets (ALWAYS  Sunday night!!).  Late entries will NOT be accepted after the deadline.

I did not get a chance to get our meet out last week.  No, you're not missing it.  I will do my best after I return to get the Jan 3rd meet sent out in th next few days.    

 

SUPERIOR MEET - Chase for the Cane

This meet will start at 10:00am and could possibly be done by early afternoon.  This is a RELAY meet so you will be committing to this meet with a YES or NO, if you have troubles, email Katie ASAP tonight.  

Swimmers do NOT get to pick events for this meet.  Each swimmer will be assigned 4-5 relays to swim at this meet.  YES, this is different from our normal meets but is a TON of fun!!

If you are considering the Superior meet on Dec 20th - start looking at booking your hotel, IF you plan to stay overnight.  Due to the season and Bentlyville, I am not able to secure a block of rooms at a hotel.  Many have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express or the Hampton Inn in Superior.  

 

SHARKS HOST - 

Our meet has been sent out this week and will be sent out again shortly.  PLEASE commit or decline your swimmer ASAP.  With the holidays next week, I do not want you to forget.  I will NOT take any late entries after 12/28 @ 11/59pm!

 

HOLIDAYS - The following dates there will be NO PRACTICE'S - 

Dec 24 YMCA closes at 12:00pm

Dec 25- YMCA Closed

Dec 31 - YMCA hours - 7:00am - 5:00pm

Jan 1 -  YMCA hours - 7:00am - 5:00pm

We know many of you will be traveling over the next 3 weeks for the holidays.  You do not need to let me know you are not attending practices, we know.  Busy time of the year and we expect low attendance numbers.  Just know, if you can make it to practice, there will be a coach there.

 

WINTER WEATHER TEAM REMINDER - 

Practices at the YMCA rarely cancel due a snow storm due to the YMCA stays open for our members.   IF the YMCA was to close, you will be notified via TeamUnify/Email that the YMCA is closing and practices are canceled as soon as I can get the communication out.  Please check your email before heading to practice, just in case!  
 
There will always be a coach on deck and ready for practice as long as the YMCA is open but that does not mean you NEED to venture out in bad driving conditions to get to practice.  
 
BEST RULE OF THUMB....if you don't want to drive your swimmer to practice in a snowstorm or sub zero temperatures please do not.  Safety for our swimmers and families are our main concern.  
 
Parents do not need to contact me if they are not coming to practice.  We will know.
