Feb 15 - DEADLINE to register for Regional Meet and practices

Feb 15 - STATE Swim Meet

Feb 22 - Last day of practices 

Feb 23 - March swimming starts (Regional & Non-regional swimmers)

Mar 19 - Last day of March Practices

 
 
RIBBONS - 
I received ribbons from the TC invite and the Section Ribbons today.  I will be at the Y on Tuesday night to get them into the ribbon bins.  Please have your swimmer check their bin AFTER practices on Tuesday or Wednesday.
 
 
SECTION WRAP UP - 
Meet results will be emailed out tomorrow or Tuesday night and will be uploaded onto your swimmers Sports Engine account. 
 
I will send out the PDF of the results for this meet, so those of you that swam Sections, can see where you ended up on the results.
 
 

STATE MEET - February 15th

University of MN - Jean K Freeman Aquatic Center

The top 3 finishers in each EVENT (not heat) at Sections, automatically go to the STATE Meet.  If a relay goes, the relay goes.  A swimmer may only be eligible to swim in that relay and not any individual events depending how they finish in their individual events.  

A final list of qualifiers for the State Meet and any alternates will be sent out 1 week prior to the State Meet.  You will not sign up for this meet.  You will automatically be entered from the Section Meet.  Meet information has not been sent out but we will have 2 sessions to this meet again:

10 & unders Boys & Girls will swim the morning

11 & over Boys and Girls will swim the afternoon 

Alternate swimmers - This is a swimmer who did not make the top 3 into an event, but has a time/place that places them on an alternate list.  Usually, the top 2-4 alternates attend the State Meet and are ready/available to swim the event.  

As soon as information is sent out to me, I will communicate with you.

Please do not feel you need to spend hundreds of dollars for a tech suit for your swimmer.
 
Also - Be aware that 12 & unders have to be in an approve FINA suit with a green check mark on the back or they will need to remove the suit or get DQ's.  
 
 
REGIONAL MEET HOTEL - 
The Embassy is where some of our families will be staying for the Regional weekend.  Here is there information -

Embassy suites look to be the best deal averaging out about $140 a night which includes breakfast and a happy hour. It is not connected to the skyway, but it’s about a five minute drive to downtown. This would allow our team to get together in the common area.
 
The quote that was received is about $140 king bed, $151 double bed. Parking is $10 a day. They need a credit card on file to book it. Otherwise it was closer to $170 a room unless you are a Hilton honors member.

MARCH 2026 SWIMMING - 

Non Regional swimmers are invited to continue to swim with the Sharks after February 22nd.  You will need to register and pay the Regional Practice Fee to be eligible to swim during the month of March.
