Winterfest Re-Cap

There were so many fantastic swims across all age groups at Winterfest. The highlights included Vanessa Rizzo and Liam Knight making their first individual Y National cuts, both in the 50 free. The Girls Open Free Relay team of Vanessa Rizzo, Heidi Rizzo, Lizzie Daniels and Daisy Pitches started off the meet with a Y National cut and a fourth place finish. The Girls Open Medley Relay team of Vanessa Rizzo, Lizzie Daniels, Ginger Griffin and Daisy Pitches also swam a Y National Cut and a fourth place finish. The Boys Open 200 Free Relay of Aidan Menu, Nick Chavez, Jasui Gredysa and Liam Knight also got an Y National Cut.

Our age group relays were also impressive. The girls 13-14 free relay of Sydney Powers, Mia Milazzo, Molly Grande, and Avienne O’Shea finished 8th; the 11-12 girls Medley Relay of Reagan Taylor, Evelyn Rizzo, Raegin Poitras, and Novella Dunham finished in 3rd place. The 9-10 boys free relay of AJ Struble, Felix Doerfler, Ryder Abran, and Paul Crills finished 7th, as did the medley relay of Evan Sullivan, Felix Doerfler, Paul Crills, and AJ Struble. And the girls 9-10 relays outshone them all with first place finishes for the 200 free relay of Alani Janota, Georgie Guittard, Allie Guittard, and Maya Saifullah and the 200 medley relay of Sadie Weil, Alani Janota, Georgie Guittard and Maya saifullah.

Individual Scorers (top 8 for 12 & unders, top 16 for 13 & overs were:

Alani Janota: 8th in 100 IM and 50 back, 4th in 50 breast, 5th in 100 back.

Maya Saifullah: 2nd in 50 back, 50 breast, 50 free, 100 breast, 3rd in 100 free, 7th in 50 fly

Sadie Weil: 6th in 50 back

Raegin Poitras: 1st in 50 fly, 100 fly, 3rd in 500 free, 200 IM

Evelyn Rizzo: 4th 200 free, 5th 200 IM, 10th 100 breast, 11th 500 free

Heidi Rizzo: 5th 200 free, 11th 100 free, 13th 50 free and 200 IM, 14th 100 back, 15th 100 breast

Aidan Menu: 9th 100 free, 11th 100 fly

Nick Chavez: 7th 100 back, 12th 50 free

Lizzie Daniels: 7th 100 breast, 10th 200 breast

Liam Knight: 15th 50 free

Daisy Pitches: 6th 100 free, 8th 200 back, 11th 50 free and 200 free, 13th 200 IM
