Newburgh Sharks Trials & Finals (Jan 16th - 19th) is NOW OPEN

The Newburgh Sharks Trials and Finals meet is being held from 1/16/2026 thru 01/18/2026 and Sign Up deadline is 12/29/2025.  The meet will be held at Valley Central Natatorium (pool) at 1175 NY-Rt 17K, Montgomery, NY.

Newburgh Sharks Trials & Final Meet format: (Prelim is another name for Trials)

  • Session 1 (Friday): 4:00pm W-up and  4:45pm Start 
    • Timed Finals Events are OPEN (any age)
  • Session 2  (Friday): 7:00pm W-up and 7:30pm Start 
    • Timed Finals Event are ages 12 and under
  • Session 3 (Saturday Morning): 8:00am W-up and 9:30am Start
    • Prelims for ages 13/14, and OPEN (any age)
  • Session 4 (Saturday Afternoon): 1:30pm W-up and 2:30pm Start
    • Timed Finals for  11/12 and 10 & Under 
  • Session 5 (Saturday Evening):  6:00pm W-up and 6:30pm Start 
    • Finals  (Top 16 swimmers from Prelims for ages 13/14 and OPEN)
  • Session 6 (Sunday Morning): 8:00am W-up 9:30am Start 
    • Prelims for ages 13/14, and OPEN (any age)
  • Session 7 (Sunday Afternoon): 1:30pm W-up 2:30pm Start
    • Timed Finals for 11/12 and 10 & Under
  • Session 8 (Sunday Evening): Finals 6:00pm W-up 6:30pm Start
    • Finals  (Top 16 swimmers from Trials/Prelims for ages 13/14, OPEN)

How to Qualify for FINALS:

  • If the swimmer finishes in the top 16 in the prelims that are held on Saturday and Sunday morning session, the swimmer comes back that evening for Finals.  The swimmer will have 30 minutes from the announcement of Prelim results, to declare intent to scratch (not participate) from finals.
  • Swimmers that finish in 17th & 18th place will be offered to be alternates (fill in if there is a scratch or no show). 

Additional Rules:

  • Any swimmer who fails to compete in an individual event in which such swimmer entered and has not been scratched will be barred from all further individual and relay events of that day.
  • Any swimmer commits to the final and then fails to compete in the FINALS, will be barred from the rest of the meet.
  • On Sunday, if a swimmer qualifies for finals in the prelims and agrees to attend the Finals but then fails to compete in Sunday's Finals, the team will be fined $50 for each event.  The Dolphins will then pass along those fees to the swimmer by billing the swimmer's Dolphins account.

DECLARE YOUR INTENTIONS on ATTENDING MEET:

The process is simple. Click the following link and once you have signed in, you will be brought to a webpage on our organization website that will allow you to commit or not commit your child to the meet. If you have more than one child you will see them listed on this page.

Here are the steps if you ARE NOT GOING:Click on the Member Names [they default to Not Committed]

  • Then click on the Signup Record pull-down and select No
  • If No, just click on the [Save Changes] button to save the changes
  • If you have more than one child, repeat the same task as listed above

Here are the steps if you ARE GOING:

  • Click on the Signup Record pull-down and select Yes
  • Once yes is selected, you will see the events your child MAY be eligible to member
  • You will also see the best times inserted into the Entry Time field and highlighted in yellow
  • Check the Checkbox to the left of the name for those events you would like to class
  • Please take careful notice of the time standards that must be met in the right-side columns
  • Once you have finished, click on the Save Changes Button in the lower right
  • Repeat the process for additional members
  • You will notice that Coach Approval column will indicate Pending after you submit
  • Please pay careful attention to:
    - Maximum Event Entry Limitations IF PRESENT. Click on the >>View if present.
    - Add any notes that you want the Coach or Administrator to see
     

Your coach or organization administrator will review your declaration and APPROVE or REJECT your request and once they submit the final choices you will be able to review by signing in and clicking on the Attend This Event button for any events listed on our organization website. Look at the Coach Approval column for the events that you have been confirmed.
