The Alec Cosgarea Award

The Alec Cosgarea Award was established in 2013 to honor the memory of Alec who died in an auto accident July 9, 2012.  The award is given to the rising senior in the High Performance or Challenge Groups who closely demonstrates the qualities which are inscribed upon the plaque, an indomitable spirit and an indelible character.  The Alec Cosgarea is accompanied by the remission of the season’s dues and a $500.00 contribution by NBAC to the scholarship at McDonogh School in Alec’s memory.

The Louis Lowenthal Award

The Louis Lowenthal Award was established in 2013 to honor the memory of Louis who passed away October 31, 2012.  The award is presented to a swimmer moving from the Imagination level to the Challenge level who closely demonstrates the qualities of Louis himself, a strong desire to improve in the pool, healthy habits and intellectual curiosity outside the pool.  As is inscribed on the plaque, Live Life Like Louis.  This award is accompanied by the remission of the season’s dues and a $500.00 contribution by NBAC to Action for Healthy Kids in Louis’ memory.
