Capitol Federal Natatorium at Hummer Sports Park

The Capitol Federal Natatorium, nestled within the state-of-the-art Hummer Sports Park, is the premier venue for competitive swimming in Topeka and beyond. Designed with athletes, coaches, and spectators in mind, this Olympic-sized facility makes hosting swim meets seamless and professional.

Facility Highlights:

  • Olympic-sized pool: 50 meters long by 25 yards wide
  • Depth range: 13'6" to 3'6" — ideal for both swimming and diving
  • Movable bulkhead: Allows the pool to be split into two 25-yard competition pools
  • Warm-up/cool-down pool: Four lanes for continuous training and recovery
  • Capacity: Accommodates up to 400 swimmers and 1,000 spectators in grandstand seating
  • Support amenities: Crash area, multi-purpose room, lobby, concession stand, and public locker rooms
  • Scoring & timing: Dedicated room for dual-pool scoring and meet operations

Athletes and fans alike benefit from a cutting-edge air handling system and an ultraviolet filtration system that reduces chlorine use and enhances air quality. In 2019, a complete HVAC redesign—made possible by the Capitol Federal Foundation—further elevated the comfort and safety of the indoor environment.

Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center

During the summer months, Topeka Swim Association takes full advantage of the outdoor training opportunities at the Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center, located in scenic Gage Park. This Olympic-size 50-meter pool provides the perfect venue for long-course practice, fresh air, and a change of pace from indoor training.

With ample deck space, shaded areas, and a swimmer-friendly layout, Blaisdell supports both high-performance workouts and relaxed recovery sessions. It’s a favorite among our athletes and families during the warm-weather season.

In early June, TSA proudly hosts its annual Beach Bash swim meet at Blaisdell. This high-energy event draws teams from across the region for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and summer fun. The meet showcases top talent while celebrating the spirit of outdoor swimming—and it’s a highlight of our seasonal calendar.
