The Goldsboro Family YMCA and the Raymond A. Bryan Olympic pool is home to the GOLD Sharks Swim Team.  The facility boasts an 8-lane "L" shaped 50-meter pool that incorporates a removable bulkhead to switch between two 8-lane 25 yard courses and an 8-lane 50 meter course.  The facility also has a 6-lane 25-yard therapy pool that is used as a warm-down area during Long Course swim meets. The Goldsboro Y has hosted many large championships during its history including YMCA State Championships, Upper Southeast Regional YMCA Championships, Greater Sunbelt YMCA League Championships, North Carolina High School Eastern Regionals, and the Dixie Zone Masters Championship.  The pool has been the site of many North Carolina Swimming State Records and Masters National/World Records and has been a training ground for athletes of all ages and abilities, including a number who went on to become Olympians.

Reminders

Pool ClosuresThe aquatics center will close whenever thunder or lightning occurs, and will remain closed until the weather clears. In the event of a closure,  a notice will be posted at the Y's front desk, on the Goldsboro Y website, app, and social media.

Swim Meets- When GOLD hosts a weekend swim meet, the entire Aquatics area is reserved for use by swim meet participants and will be closed to members. Spectators may watch the action from the observation deck or serve as volunteers on deck.
