Betancourt and Claborn Named USA Scholastic All-Americans
Congratulations to Amelia Betancourt and Alyssa Claborn for being named 2023-2024 USA Scholastic All-Americans! This honor is not just a recognition of their outstanding swimming, but also their exceptional academic achievements. To make the list, these athletes must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA while also hitting a Winter Junior Nationals qualifying time. Only 1,790 student-athletes across the country earned this distinction, and we are so proud to have TWO honorees on our team! Alyssa Claborn and Amelia Betancourt helped North Carolina Swimming finish first in total recipients by LSC with 139 Scholastic All-Americans this year. Southern California Swimming was second with 109 athletes.
Amelia Betancourt achieved the Winter Jr. National qualifying time in the 100 breaststroke and is honored for the first time this year.
Alyssa Claborn is an All-American for the third year consecutive year with Winter Jr. National times in the 100 back, 200 back, and 100 fly.
