Lightning Coach Tammie Filiault Named 2025 National YMCA Swimming Coach of the Year

Jan Claborn

Congrats to Lowe’s Lightning Head Coach Tammie Filiault on being named the 2025 National YMCA Swimming Coach of the Year.  Filiault was bestowed the honor during the 2025 YMCA Short Course Championship held in Greensboro, North Carolina.  The honor is open to YMCA coaches nationwide and awarded to those who exemplify the very best of what it means to lead, inspire, and uplift their team. Any YMCA coach can be nominated by a parent, swimmer, fellow coach, YMCA professional, or official. The YMCA describes this award as recognizing a coach who “promotes achievement, encourages positive and supportive relationships, and inspires a sense of community among swimmers.”  We are beyond proud of Coach Tammie and so lucky to have her leading our Lowe’s Family. This award is a testament to the love, dedication, and excellence she brings to the pool deck and our Mooresville swimming community every single day.  Congratulations Coach Tammie!
