Wingate Aquatics

Wingate Aqua-Dogs

  • An age group based swimming team giving Union County, North Carolina children an opportunity to pursue competitiive swimming beyond lessons and summer swim team.  The team was formed in 2010 by Wingate University Head Swimming Coach and Aquatic Director Kirk Sanocki . In addition to USA Swimming and North Carolina Swimming the Aqua-Dogs are members of the Blue Ridge Swimming League participating in competitions in the Greater Charlotte, NC area.  Most of yearly competitions take place in the BRSL to create a team unity atmosphere.

North Carolina Swimming LSC

  • North Carolina Swimming is made up of over 8,900 swimmers, professional coaches and dedicated volunteers.

    North Carolina Swimming jurisdiction and zone affiliation:

    North Carolina Swimming is the Local Swimming Committee (LSC), an administrative arm of USA Swimming, with jurisdiction to conduct swimming competition in the State of North Carolina, except the counties of Pasquotank, Camden and Currituck.  North Carolina Swimming is a member of the Southern Zone.

    North Carolina Swimming is the administrative arm of USA Swimming for our LSC. Our responsibilities include:
    • processing of memberships for athletes, coaches, clubs and non-athlete members
    • scheduling competitions and publishing a calendar
    • processing sanctions for competitions and other related activities
    • training and certification of officials
    • maintaining communication through our web site and newsletters
    • providing educational opportunities for athletes, coaches and volunteers at our meetings and clinics
    • giving recognition for records and top times
    • assembling the NCS Zone Team
    • other administrative responsibilities consistent with the needs of our programs and the needs of our members.

As the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States, USA Swimming is a 300,000-member service organization that promotes the culture of swimming by creating opportunities for swimmers and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in the sport through clubs, events and education. 

Our membership is comprised of swimmers from the age group level to the Olympic Team, as well as coaches and volunteers. USA Swimming is responsible for selecting and training teams for international competition including the Olympic Games, and strives to serve the sport through its core objectives: Build the base, Promote the sport, Achieve competitive success.
