  • Choose the age group practice fees that the swimmer will be on the first day of the state meet.

New Changes for the Minot North Pool and SC Season

  • All practices and swim meets will be held at the new Minot North Pool!
  • All swimmers will start practice at 5:45pm since we have 20 lanes available to use. This will be great for the swimmers and coaches to finish practices at an eariler time each night.
  • If the Minot North pool is busy with a swim meet, we will more than likely cancel practices since all of our coaches are also involved with high school swimming and will be at the swim meet. If coaches are available, we will try to schedule a practice at the Minot High pool. Otherwise, we will schedule additional Saturday practices pending coach availability. There should be fewer "No Swimming Nights" since there will no longer be any middle school meets, only high school meets.
  • Thanks to our TeamUp fundraising event this summer to help cover the increase in pool rental fees, there is no increase in practice fees other than $1-$2 to round the fees to end in a 5 or a 0. Way to go!!
  • Home swim meet fees will increase to $30 for a one day meet and $40 for a two day meet. This is due to an increase in the per swimmer fee that goes to the state for each meet along with the increase in pool rental. Home meet fees have not increased since 2018. We will also be increasing the rates that the other clubs pay to attend our meets.

USA Swimming Membership Insurance Fee $85

  • New swimmers: Do not register until after trial period is complete.  We will remind you after you have decided to continue with the swim club!
  • Returning swimmers are required to go online and purchase an annual USA Swimming Membership for $85 (estimated).  This is an annual fee charged at the beginning of the Short Course Season, typically in October.

Family Discounts:

  • Two children: $25 Family Discount
  • Three Children: $50 Family Discount
  • Four Children: $75 Family Discount

***Discounts apply to registrations for the entire season that are either paid in full or divided into two payments. Discounts do not apply to boys pre-season swimmers or club swimmers starting at a later time during the season or any other season discounted fees.

Middle School Swimmers

NEW THIS YEAR! There is no longer swimming at the middle schools. Swimmers in 7th and 8th grade will have the opportunity to participate with the High School swimming teams at either Minot High School or Minot North High School starting this school year.  If they choose not to, they can join Minot Swim Club when those practices start. 6th grade swimmers will swim with the Minot Swim Club. There will not be a 6th grade school team. The girls high school season runs from August 18 - November 15, 2025, and the boys high school season runs from December 1, 2025 - March 7, 2025.

Boys High School Pre-Season Swimmers

High School Boys Preseason swimmers can register now and will start on October 6, 2025 at 5:45pm.

  • Practices:  athletes may attend all practices available until the Boys HS season starts on December 1 and then between the high school season and the club state meet in March 2026.
  • Swim meet entry fees and USA Swimming registration are additional fees.
  • Fundraising:  Boys that compete for Minot Public Schools high school team during the HS season are not required to sell the club raffle tickets.  In lieu of fundraising, they will not receive the meet fee discount for out of town meets, the state meet and higher-level meets.  If they choose to sell the raffle tickets, they will receive the meet discounts.

    • West Parking Lot
  • Door #39
  • Do not use other doors since these are locked to the public.

“No Swim” Dates

“No Swim” dates are listed on the calendar on the website.  "No Swim" dates occur due to high school swim meets taking place in the evenings.

“No Locker Room” Practices

We are sharing building space with MNHS varsity sports.  Therefore, we may at times not have access to the locker rooms. This may be due to a basketball game, wrestling, or other sports. The locker room will be used by the teams competing in that sport.  To allow our swimmers the opportunity to swim, we will be allowed to use the pool; however, swimmers will not have a locker room to change in. Parking may be an issue during these practices.

“No Locker Room” practices will be listed on the calendar on the website or communicated via email.

Weather Cancellations

In case of bad weather, cancellations will be posted on our website and/or the local TV station websites:  www.kmot.com and www.kxnet.com for updates regarding our practices.

Swim Meets

Swim meets are available throughout the state most weekends from late November to mid-March.

  • Minot Meets:  we plan to host four meets during the season
    • Thursday, November 20, 2025 - Intrasquad Practice Meet
    • Sunday, November 23, 2025 - November Meet
    • Saturday, January 31 - Sunday, February 1, 2026 - Winter Fun Meet
    • Tuesday Evening, February 10, 2026 - Intrasquad Meet
    • Sunday, March 8, 2026 - Intrasquad Meet
  • State Meet
    • Age 10 & Under:  February 21-22, 2026, in West Fargo
    • Age 11 & Over:  March 19-22, 2026, in West Fargo
  • It is your decision which meets your swimmer attends, keeping in mind that attending a swim meet will show progress the swimmer is making during practice.  Additionally, they will record times that could possibly qualify them for the state meet.
  • Sign up deadline for meets is on Tuesdays, 1 1/2 weeks prior to the meet as noted on the online calendar. The general price for a swim meet is $30 for one day and $40 for a two day meet. There are some meets that will have a higher fee and will be noted on the event sign up.  Late fee is $25 per swimmer for registrations after the deadline.

One of the benefits of joining the Minot Swim Club is that we assist with the price of the swim meets. MSC Fundraising fees are used to help supplement the meet expenses, up to $10 per meet, for the families so the swimmers can attend meets at a reduced price.

Swim meets are listed on the Website under the Events tab.  The meets that the club will be attending as a team will be noted on the event information.

Minot Swim Meets Volunteer Requirement

A parent or guardian is required to work at least one shift per meet at each Minot Swim Club meet in which they have a swimmer participating.  Shifts may include timing, concessions, ribbon preparation, officiating or merchandise sales, among others.  Volunteer requirements will be sent out for each meet depending on the number of swimmers that are signed up for the meet.  Families will also be asked to donate items for the concession stand.  Volunteers are needed for each of these areas to ensure a successful meet.  Any family that does not volunteer at an MSC home swim meet will be assessed a $250 fee per swim meet.

Equipment

Swimmers will need to purchase equipment for daily practices.  MSC will have samples of these items on hand during the trial week and first full week of practices for sizing purposes.

Fundraising Obligation:

Fundraising is an integral source of income for the Minot Swim Club and enables the club to keep swimming practice fees and meet fees at a minimum.  MSC holds a large prize Raffle during the short course season.  Each family is required to sell 10 raffle tickets for $20 per ticket.  Tickets will be distributed during the first few weeks of practice and must be paid for at the time of distribution.  At ticket distribution, each family will write a check or pay cash for $200 for the raffle tickets.  Checks will be cashed within 10 days of receipt unless specifically requested to be held longer.  Additional books will be available for purchase and will not be distributed until payment is received.  Tickets will be sold during the Short Course season with the drawing to be held during the Winter Fun Meet on Feb 1, 2026.

Cash Prizes!  (Total Prize payout is $10,000!!!)

  • $5,000
  • $2,500
  • $1,000
  • $500 (3 separate $500 Prizes to be awarded)

Several prizes will be awarded for the top ticket sellers!!!

Additional fundraising opportunities may arise such as a Silent Auction or Dine to Donate at a restaurant.  Please let us know if you have any great fundraising ideas!!!

Financial Assistance Scholarship

MSC offers financial assistance for swimming fees to those families that qualify based on income levels. If you would like more information, please send an email to [email protected]

Parent Meetings and Communication

MSC utilizes email, Facebook and Instagram to communicate with parents.  Parent meetings are held as needed.  The purpose of these meetings is to educate families on many topics of being involved in competitive swimming.  In addition, we will educate parents and swimmers regarding what to expect and how to prepare for a swim meet.   There is a general Minot Swim Club Facebook page and a "Minot Otter Mom & Dads" private group Facebook page.

Minot Swim Club Board

The Minot Swim Club Board is responsible for the overall management, budgeting and direction of the Minot Swim Club.  There are 11 board members that are elected or appointed to those positions.  The board member names are listed on the Minot Swim Club website.  Board meetings are held monthly.  Feel free to ask questions of any board member or send an email to the club email address:  [email protected].
