Blue Waves 2025-2026 Practice Groups

Pacific - Pacific is our most competitive group where the focus is on participation in meets and challenging the kids to set more difficult goals for themselves. This group should come to practice with the aim of becoming better swimmers.  Practice focus will include training with thought in mind that how they train should be a reflection of how they want to perform. This group is expected to maintain a high attendance rate and positively represent the Blue Waves at competitive swim meets.

Atlantic - Atlantic group is where the kids will switch their focus to competition and participation in meets will be expected.  Practices will maintain a heavy emphasis on technique, but will also include an introduction to more rigorous aerobic training.  This group is expected to maintain a high attendance rate and positively represent the Blue Waves at competitive swim meets. 

Arctic - Arctic group will welcome the kids to competition and practice focuses will include learning how to successfully race.  Practice focus will remain heavily weighted toward correct technique, but will also include learning how to adjust effort level and speed.  Attendance at swim meets is highly encouraged. 

Southern - Southern group will include our youngest swimmers and introduce them to the concept of swim team.  The focus will be mostly on correct technique of the four competition strokes.
