Meet Wrap UP: YNS Reid Sacco Invitational

YNS Reid Sacco meet, held the first weekend in December, is a favorite invitational meet for STORM swimmers and families.  The host team, the YMCA of the North Shore, puts on a great and fun meet and our swimmers always put together some fantastic swims.  It acts as the perfect mid-season championship competition for the majority of the team.  The energy is always high and competition is excellent for fast swimming.  STORM put together a very strong weekend - with many outstanding performances in all age groups!  The evening finals were incredibly high energy and swimmers enjoyed dancing behind the blocks to championship finals walk out music.  When the weekend was over, we went home tired but with season bests, new cuts, and team records.  It was a great competition for everyone!

 

Storm Achieved 401 lifetime personal best times at this competition!  This was a HUGE number - and a great mid-season benchmark test!  WOW swimmers!  We are super excited for what is to come the second half of the season!

 

As many STORM swimmers keep their eye on achieving IMX recognition this season, several young athletes attacked new races at the YNS meet, achieving Bronze and Silver cuts in the process!

Biggest Loser!

 

A special goes out to our BIGGEST LOSER, Tommy B., from the Senior Squad!  

 Tommy had the largest percentage of time drops this weekend, averaging 4.87% improvement per swim!  Well done, Tommy! 


 

New Team Records: We had quite a few new team records at this meet!  Congratulations to the following swimmers for their STORM record breaking performances!

  • Riley W., 15-18 Boys 1650 freestyle (16:38.92)
  • Riley W., 15-18 Boys 500 freestyle (4:45.15)
  • Riley W., 15-18 Boys 400 IM (4:13.47) - tie with current record



 

New Barrier Breakers:

Barrier Breakers are recognized when a swimmer goes under a certain time for a race for the first time.  LCM Barrier breakers include breaking under :30 in a 50, under 1:00 in a 100, under 2:00 in a 200, under 6:00 in a 500 free, under 5:00 in a 500 free, under 5:00 in a 400 IM, under 10:00 and 11:00 in the 1000 and under 17:30 and under 18:00 in the 1650.  Let’s congratulate the following Barrier Breaker Swims!
