The six athletes with the fastest times in each individual Olympic event (from the combined results of all USA Swimming or FINA sanctioned competitions) are named to the roster, and Matt made the team with his 2:08.91 swim in the 200 BR at the US 2020 Olympic Wave II Trials this summer.

Matt joins decorated athletes such as Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel, Nathan Adrian, and Allison Schmitt on the roster.
