Summer Swim Teams 2025
The Bridgewater Blue Dolphins and Hillsborough Hurricanes swim teams are a fun way to introduce swimmers to the world of competitive swimming. The teams run from early June through the end of July.
**Tryouts are required for members new to the team, and who are not members of STORM (details below).
New this year: program fees are inclusive of all additional costs (awards, meet fees, platform fees, etc.) Swimmers will need to purchase a team suit, googles, and a cap.
Registration for tryouts and the team are open NOW. If your swimmer is required to tryout, please do not register for the team until they are accepted.

TEAM REGISTRATION
- All summer swim team members need to have a YMCA membership prior to registering. For membership information, please contact your local GSCYMCA Welcome Center.
- Registration fees are divided into 3 payments: $100 due at registration, the remainder split between 2 payments automatically withdrawn 6/12 & 7/12.
PLEASE be sure your child can make this commitment before registering. Registering reserves a limited spot on the team and all fees are non-refundable following check-out.

FAQS:
Do I need to tryout? Maybe:
- STORM, Technical Fitness, or former Blue Dolphins or Hillsborough Hurricanes do not need to tryout and can register for the team now. Links above.
- All swimmers new to either summer team need to tryout prior to registration. Tryout information listed above. Links above.
I am a member of the STORM 2025 Long Course Team in Thunder, Lightning, Junior or Senior. Can I join a summer team as well? YES! And many STORM swimmers do. STORM swimmers wishing to join the team register as a “participant only”. They will do all practices with STORM and join the summer team for meets and events only. They are not permitted to practice with the summer team.
I am a STORM Waves swimmer. May I join the summer team? YES! No tryout required. Please register as a full team member as summer teams do not overlap with STORM. You will be practicing and competing with the summer team for the full season.
How do I know what group I should register my child for? Please register them according to how old they will be on 6/30/2025.
Group1: ages 6-8
Group 2: ages 9-11
Group 3: ages 12 & Over
What is the commitment? Swimmers will have three practices and 2 meets a week at the peak of the season.
Is travel required? Parents should expect to travel up to 40 minutes for some dual meets.
What kind of meets will swimmers compete in? Dual meets and invitational meets. Dual meets are swam against other teams in the league. Invitational meets are attended by multiple teams. We participate in an end-of-season League Championship and a Conference meet.
Are there additional costs? Swimmers will need to purchase a team suit and cap.
Can registration fees be pro-rated or refunded for missed days? There are no refunds, credits, pro-rating or makeups. While we understand swimmers may miss part of the season due to sickness, vacation, or other circumstances, we are unable to adjust the fees for days absent.
