Anna Moesch & Emily Thompson Named to USA Swimming Roster for the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships
GSCY Storm's very own Anna Moesch and Emily Thompson have qualified to represent the United States at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships! The Junior Pan Pacs will be held August 24-27, 2022 at the K. Mark Takai Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Swimmers aged 18 and under as of December 31st of the competition year are eligible to compete at the Junior Pan Pacs. As a result of Emily and Anna's stellar performance at the Phillips 66 International Team Trials, they will join a US roster of 41 total swimmers (21 men and 20 women). Anna qualified in the 50M and 100M Free and Emily qualified in the 200M IM.
"This is a remarkable achievement, and I am so incredibly proud of Emily and Anna," said Mary Korey, interim GSCY Storm Head Coach. "They are among the best of the best junior athletes in the World, and it is a testament to their talent and hard work through the years. To see them compete on home soil is icing on the cake. We wish them all the best in Hawaii!"
Held every four years, the Junior Pan Pacs host junior athletes from the four charter Pan Pacific nations of Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States. Other select non-European Swimming League (LEN) countries also participate. In 2018, when the last Junior Pan Pacs were held, athletes from New Zealand, China, Fiji, Singapore, South Korea and Ecuador also participated.
