Kenny Barnicle Invited to Participate in USA Swimming’s 2022 Zone Select Camp

We extend our congratulations to GSCY Storm's Kenny Barnicle for being selected to participate in USA Swimming’s 2022 Zone Select Camp! These camps consist of the top swimmers in each zone based on the 2021 Long Course Meters (LCM) season.

“We are extremely proud to have Kenny representing GSCY at the Zone Select Camp,” said Mary Korey, interim GSCY Storm Head Coach. “This honor reflects the hard work he has put into training and is the next step toward fulfilling his long-term goals as an athlete and young adult.”

About the 2022 Zone Select Camp

This motivational experience is designed to develop the athlete’s leadership skills. Athletes will have the opportunity to learn both in and out of the water, consisting of  five in-water workouts and a number of classroom sessions covering a variety of topics. It will provide ignition, motivation and information for athletes to continue to set goals, work hard, excel in swimming and feel empowered to take ownership of their swimming careers.

Selection Process

The top swimmers in each Zone are selected for the camp. Swimmers are selected automatically through USA Swimming’s SWIMS database based on 2021 LCM combined IMX point scores.
