GSCY Storm Connect

USA Swimming has announced its 2022-2023 National Junior Team Roster, and our very own Anna Moesch has been selected to join the team!  Anna qualified in the 100 Free, posting the fastest qualifying time of 54.33 (from the YMCA LC Nationals), and in the 50 Free, with the fastest qualifying time of 24.92 (also from the YMCA LC Nationals).

There were a total of 72 swimmers on this year's roster, coming from 26 states and 61 clubs. To be selected to the National Junior team, athletes must meet the following criteria:

  • Priority 1: The two athletes with the fastest times in each Olympic Event
  • Priority 2: The athletes with the third and fourth fastest times in the 100 and 200 (LCM) freestyle
  • Priority 3: The men and women in each Olympic Event who are 4% over the combined average of the medal winning times from the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, and the 2019 and 2022 World Championships. If the cap of 40 swimmers will be exceeded after applying Priority 3, then the following tie breaking procedure will be applied: Each athlete’s time will be applied as a percentage of the combined average medal winning times. The times will be ranked and athletes will be added to the team according to the ranking. Once the cap of 40 swimmers is reached, no more athletes will be added to the team

Congratulations Anna!
