About Us:

The Cavern City Swim Club (CCSC) in Carlsbad, NM is a growing, competitive, youth swim program for ages 6+ in southeast New Mexico. We are incredibly excited about our future and are seeking a dynamic swim coach who shares our enthusiasm and will complement our program. Our goal is to provide every swimmer the opportunity to develop their swimming skills and succeed at every level from novice up in a positive yet safe and competitive environment.  Our facility is a 6-lane, 50-meter, Long-Course/5-lane, 25-yard, Short-Course, indoor pool.  We are a nonprofit organization registered as a 501©3 with the state of NM.  We are a board run Safe Sport Recognized Program (SSRP) with five elected board members.  We currently have 69 registered swimmers in four different levels.  We practice in the evenings (5-7 PM so they are part time positions) and have meets in SE NM as well as West TX.  We practice year round with breaks in between the seasons.  We use a Colorado Timing System and Commit Software for team management.  We are currently considering meet management software in the near future.  If you think you are the asset our team is looking for, please send a resume to [email protected].

Assistant Coach

The ideal candidate will have a current USA-Swimming, Non-Athlete Registration and previous swim coaching or swim lessons experience is preferred. However, for the right candidate we would be willing to assist in obtaining USA-S, Non-Athlete Registration.  As an assistant swim coach, you would take direction from our head coach and need to be proficient at teaching swimmers new strokes and techniques as well as perfecting skills like flips, kicks, floating, breath control, etc.  You must be willing and able to assist with the daily team operations as assigned.  The Assistant Swim Coach must be able to attend 3-5 swim practices per week (2 hours per evening), as well as travel for out-of-town swim meets as needed.  Compensation will include: an hourly-wage salary for practice sessions based on experience and a flat-rate salary per session, per swim meet, and swim meet per diem.  As assistant coach, other related duties may be included to meet the needs of the team.  If you think you are the right person for our swim team, we would love to hear from you! Head Coach

We are searching for a reliable and trustworthy head coach to join Cavern City Swim Club to oversee all aspects of our swim program including direct coaching responsibilities.  As head coach, your responsibilities would include analyzing swim techniques and determining skill levels, developing individualized swimming programs, teaching various techniques and styles, and overseeing practice sessions.  You would also recruit new talent through try-outs seasonally and prepare swimmers for meets.  Ideally, you would have a current USA Swimming, Non-Athlete Registration or ASCA certification with previous coaching experience.  You would be expected to guide and direct other coaches as well as communicate with parents and set training goals and objectives for our team as well as individual swimmers.  Proficiency in use of Hytek software, Colorado timing system, and Commit Swimming software is preferred as hosting and entering entries for meets will be required.  You would be required to review and evaluate other coaching staff and write workouts for a variety of age groups.  You would receive an hourly wage for evening practice sessions and a flat-rate per session, per swim meet, and swim meet per diem.  Travel, sometimes up to three or four hours is necessary for swim meets.  Our evening practice sessions would be 2 hours up to five nights per week.  These meets are weekends, occasionally a long weekend.  As head coach, other related duties may be included to meet the needs of the team.   If you think you are the right coach to lead our team, please send your resume to [email protected].
