WELCOME TO
CHARGER AQUATICS
SANTA FE

The mission of Charger Aquatics Santa Fe is to promote a life-long love of swimming in swimmers of all ages and abilities by providing a safe, healthy and positive environment for our athletes. This will be achieved through a comprehensive training program that addresses the physical, mental, nutritional, and technical dimensions of the sport to support team and individual goals.

Welcome to our new swimmers!

Meet the Board!

Charger Aquatics Santa Fe, formerly Santa Fe Aquatics (SFAC), is governed by a Board of Directors made up of volunteer swim parents, adult swim members, or interested community members. All team members have the opportunity to nominate themselves for, and vote on, board positions at our annual meeting which is usually held in September. In the event of un-timely vacancies, the President will appoint someone with the guidance and approval of the Board.

You can read about board member terms and position descriptions in our bylaws.

The Board has regular meetings that are open to all of our members. The Board welcomes your input and participation in planning team events, swim meets, and fundraisers. Please contact a board member for more information or with any questions or comments at any time.

We are always on the lookout for parents that are interested in training to become Officials.

President: Mikey Hersom

Mikey Hersom

I proudly joined the Charger Aquatics Santa Fe Board in March 2023. I was born and raised in Vermont and attended the University of Wisconsin. I have lived all over, including South Africa for five years where I met my wife Cindy-Ann (aka "CA") who came from a multigenerational, highly competitive swimming family. Her passion for the sport got Andre and I hooked and we are now dedicated swimmers and true supporters. We moved to Santa Fe in the summer of 2022 after Andre had grown up on the ocean and spent years swimming with one of the top Florida clubs. As a former CEO and co-owner of an international event marketing agency I am an avid sports fan and count all Boston teams as the top of my list! Our family enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures. I love to do anything outdoors—mountain biking, skiing, golf, scuba diving, camping—you name it.

Secretary: Rebecca Healy

My name is Rebecca Healy, and I am joining the board as of Aug ‘24.  I’m married to Sean, and both of our daughters have been swimmers.  Our oldest, Claire, swam for her school and on the Chargers.  She’s now a sophomore at the University of Colorado Boulder, and she still enjoys swimming for fun and for exercise.  Our younger daughter, Lauren, is a senior and swims for the Chargers and loves it.  I’m thankful for this team as it’s been a great blend of competitive skill-set building and fun!   My family is looking forward to this year ahead and lots of exciting times with the Chargers team.

Treasurer: Kate Sallah

I grew up in NM, moved away for college(MN), and then moved to The Gambia, West Africa to teach science as a Peace Corps volunteer. I returned to Santa Fe in 2002 and have been a science teacher at the Santa Fe Indian School since that time. I received my Master's in science teaching in 2009 from New Mexico Tech. My children, Ruby and Adam, both started out with another SF swim club but joined CAQ-Santa Fe in 2018. I knew nothing about swimming but have been happy to learn a new sport! Our family is active as we enjoy biking, hiking, backpacking, and camping together. We have a dog and 2 guinea pigs and we recently added chickens to our family.  I joined the CAQ-SF board in  April 2020 and I am currently serving as the Treasurer and Accounts Manager.

Parent Volunteer Coordinator: Eva de Andres

Hello!  My name is Eva De Andrés Presa.  I grew up in a small city in the north of Spain, Vitoria. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, a Master in English Language and I’m currently a candidate to write my dissertation on Linguistics. Currently, I live in Santa Fe with my husband, my son and my twin daughters. I enjoy hiking, watching movies, swimming, practicing Crossfit and spending time with my family. I have been part of the Board for Charger Aquatics Santa Fe since December 2021.

Katie DiDomenico

My name is Katie, and I happily joined the board in Aug 2024.  I grew up in Kansas City and moved to Santa Fe in 2020.  Our boys Enzo and Leo started swimming with the Chargers in 2022 and it was quickly evident that this is the BEST swim club in Santa Fe!  My husband Dominic was on the swim team, and I played softball at the University of Tampa, and both have coached in our sports for a number of years, so we appreciate the competitive spirit of this club.  I value service and integrity both in my professional life as a certified healthcare ethics consultant and clinical social worker and my personal life as a community member and new board member.  For fun I love to cook, ski, play tennis and softball…and of course, cheer on the Chargers!

Natalie Florence

Hi, I am Natalie Florence and am from Atlanta. Kids are 14, 11, and 9. I have lived in Santa Fe for 10 years. I have a PhD in technology studies, work in housing policy and homelessness and am a professor of architecture at Arizona State University. I enjoy long walks on the beach but I’m not swimming in a body of water full of sea monsters.

While coaches are not on the Board, they participate in our meetings. Please contact Head Coach, Lee Taylor, about swim groups, private swimming lessons, swim training, and swim meet participation.
