Courtney grew up in Pennsylvania and began her competitive swimming career with the Muhlenberg Age Group Swim Team at the age of 8. While pursuing her competitive swimming career, Courtney realized her love of swimming went beyond just competing in the pool. In high school, she taught stroke development and swimming lessons to age group and learn-to-swim level children, was an assistant swim team coach, and was promoted to pool management roles. While at Ithaca College, she acquired her Water Safety Instructor certification, allowing her to take on even larger roles like managing and revamping the swimming lesson program at her local swim club.
Following Courtney’s sophomore year at Ithaca, she decided to transition her swimming career from being a competitor in meets to running them instead. She took on the role of Meet Manager for the Ithaca College Aquatic Center and ran over 30 single and multi-day meets in a 2.5 year period. She worked with over 100 different teams and thousands of athletes, including the opportunity to work meets with the Syracuse Chargers. Courtney did this all while she was completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health with a minor in Nutrition.
She lives in Liverpool with her dogs Mango and Ginger.
Beth was introduced to the ocean and pools before she could even walk. This led to a love of swimming at a very young age. At the age of 16, she began swim instructing at a YMCA. In undergrad, she continued lessons at a few local programs as well as lifeguarding. Junior year of her Bachelor's at New Paltz she became a Lead Age Group coach for the New Paltz Hawks under the great guidance of Erin Quinn. She was also made head coach of the JV/Varsity Girl's Swim Team. During her time in New Paltz, she developed adaptive swim programs, had the opportunity to teach aquatic exercise programs for the MS Society, created a "feeder" program with Total Immersion, learned greatly from a network of open water swimmers such as Terri Laughlin and Dave Barra, and obtained her ASCA Level 2 certification.
Beth moved down the east coast to obtain her Master's in Excercise Science & Health Promotion at Florida Atlantic University. While working on her degree, she taught private lessons in the abundance of pools within FL homes and apartment complexes.
Upon moving back to NY, Beth returned to teach lessons and lifeguard at the Tompkins YMCA, where she was able to bring back the non-competitive Barracuda's Swim Team. After a COVID hiatus, she is happy to be returning to the pool deck as a Charger's coach.
Currently, Beth works at Cornell IT and, in the summer bartends at Grist Iron. When not working, she can be found traveling to National Parks, attempting to hike out her dog's abundant energy, or in the Pallas gym.
I began my swimming career on the Dutches Devilfish, which was a
YMCA team in
Poughkeepsie NY at the age of 5. I was also part of the inaugural
team for Wallkill High
School’s varsity swim team. I then swam for the past 4 years
at Le Moyne College specializing
in distance freestyle, IM, and butterfly. I graduated in May with
my bachelor's in Biology and
Environmental Science and just started in LeMoyne’s
Master's program for teaching with a
focus on adolescent inclusive education.
I have been teaching swim lessons both group and private since I
was 17 years old and this
past summer was the head coach for the OGCC summer rec swim team.
When I’m not
coaching or working you can find me at the gym or curled up with a
good book.

Morgan developed a love of swimming at a very young age. At the age of 11 she began assistant teaching Swim Lessons at the Oneida YMCA, eventually becoming a Swim Instructor there. During her time at the YMCA, she assisted with restructuring the learn-to-swim program, earned her Water Safety Instructor certification, and continued to teach lessons. Morgan moved on to become a Water Safety Instructor specializing in stroke technique with the City of Oneida Parks and Recreation Department for 12 years and was Director/Head Lifeguard at the Howard T. Chapman Pool in the City of Oneida for 3 years. While holding the position of Director, she assisted with managing the learn-to-swim program there as well as the competitive program. She continues to assist there with the competitive swim program.
In the winter of 2015, Morgan began coaching for the Syracuse City School District Boys Modified Team.
Morgan attended Le Moyne College for her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She graduated in 2012 with her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and in 2015 with her Master’s Degree in Literacy.
Morgan is currently a high school ELA teacher in the Syracuse City School District.
Cara Howe is currently the Assistant Director for Archives and Special Collections at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She swam for Cazenovia High School and taught swimming lessons since she was 18 years old. Cara was a collegiate rower and started her coaching carrier in college rowing. I am a recent graduate from SUNY Binghamton University, where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently a full-time Project Engineer at Sessler Wrecking where I work in the bridge demolition division. I began swimming with a local Staten Island swim club when I was 12 years old. I was a four-year athlete in high school where I attended Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, NY. In high school, I was the freshman team captain and the varsity team captain my senior year. Upon graduation of high school, I was awarded the most outstanding athlete in the class of 2020. During my time at Binghamton, I was a four-year member of the Division 1 Men’s Swimming and Diving team where I specialized in the 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke and 200 Individual Medley. I was a relay member of two university records, and finished my athletic career in the top three program times for the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. Fresh out of college I am eager to share my knowledge as a Swim Coach for the Syracuse Chargers and leave a positive impact on those longing to improve their skills in the water.
Along with my swimming experience, I was a swim instructor for three years. As a swim instructor, I provided swimming lessons to children, ages 3-17. At any level of experience, under my supervision and coaching, I guided individuals to become more comfortable in the water and improve their existing swimming abilities. I have also taught adults over the age of 18 to swim for the first time. I will carry valuable experience and leadership to the swimmers on the Chargers.

Liz started swimming in Oklahoma at the age of 11 with her summer swim team before she moved to Illinois and swam with her high school and summer swim team (Washington Water Jets), swimming breaststroke and mid-distance freestyle, eventually meeting her partner. In college, Liz swam for the Eureka College Red Devils in Eureka, Illinois. While in college, Liz taught swim lessons and was an assistant coach for the Water Jets.
After receiving her BS in mathematics, high school education, and chemistry, Liz taught at a Syracuse junior high school and continued to teach swim lessons before transitioning to working in a lab. Now, she's at SUNY ESF as a Ph.D student in the environmental chemistry program, where she hopes to work on polymer chemistry.
Liz lives in Syracuse with her pets and partner, Trevor. Basically, she has two cats and a puppy named Trevor. In her spare time, she likes hiking, biking, skiing, and playing games.
Trevor comes to Chargers as a new coach, prior to joining the team, he swam for his local club (Peoria Area Water Wizards) and high school teams in Peoria, Illinois, where he largely swam butterfly and mid-to-long-distance freestyle. As a child, Trevor was taught how to swim by his parents and turned that into competitive swimming, lifeguarding, and swim lessons in high school. He has been deeply influenced by his own club coaches, and met his partner through swimming (#lanelongromance).
Trevor received his BA from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, double majoring in political science and economics and had a brief stint on the swim team before receiving his J.D. from Syracuse University. After graduating and passing the bar, he worked in the state legislature in Albany, mentoring and guiding session assistants, legislative fellows, and interns in their professional journeys before returning to Syracuse.
Trevor lives in Syracuse with his partner, Liz, who also coaches for the Chargers (#powercouple) and enjoys hiking, playing games with friends, and writing non-legal stuff. Trevor and Liz are fortunate enough to be permitted to live in their pets' house.

Coach "Kaz" has been involved in aquatics for over 30 years, and is thankful for the role that it has played in her life. She started her journey into aquatics swimming for the Mexico Tiger Sharks Swim Club from its inception when she was 6, and through high school. She also swam for Mexico and Westhill-Corcoran High School Varsity teams. In her summers, she attended Nike and Colgate swim camps. These camps were run by renowned Coach Steve Jungbluth (Colgate, Florida Gators, Coach of Caelab Dressel), who initiated her interest in coaching, stroke technique, and swimmer development. This solidified the foundation for her love of aquatics.
After high school, Kaz was recruited to the SUNY Geneseo Swim Team, swimming her freshman year before getting injured. She then became an assistant coach for her former team - Westhill Corcoran. Concurrently, she was a Water Safety Instructor and Boy's Swim Coach at Camp Takajo in Naples, Maine for many summers. She then spent time at the club level coaching for Carolina Aquatics (Columbia, SC) and Texas Elite (Houston, TX) before joining The Syracuse Chargers in January of 2023.
in 2009, Kaziah became certified as an American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Instructor under Bobbi Legg and Shawn DeRosa. She received incredible training from DeRosa - one of the foremost authorities in ARC Aquatics and Pool Safety. She has used this certification to implement safety and aquatic certifications for many organizations, including the YWCA, YMCA, in her private LLC, the Gulf LSC, and South Carolina Swimming/LSC.
Additionally, Coach Kaz is an ASCA Level 1 Certified Coach and teaches various stroke and power clinics throughout the year.
