The Strait Area Pool opened in 1977. It consists of a 6 lane 25 metre pool and a wading pool, both of which are used for Learn to Swim programming, Water Exercises, and Recreational Swimming. It is also a home to the PHAST Swim team.

Facilities include:

• A seating area on the deck or in the bleachers for parents and friends to watch lessons or other activities
• Full changing rooms with showers and lockers
• Fully qualified lifeguards on duty at all times
• Access to changing areas, the pool and recreation room for patrons with limited mobility
