Coaches
Coach Doug joined the Sea Dragons coaching staff in the spring of 2013. A Henrietta, NY native, he spent 16 years in the pool as a competitive swimmer with the Rush Henrietta Swim Club (RHSC), Monroe Community College, and The College at Brockport.
Doug finds the most rewarding part of coaching is watching swimmers’ hard work in practice translate into success at meets—whether that’s hitting a qualifying cut, dropping time, or simply finishing a race strong. His goal is to help every swimmer grow not only as an athlete, but also as a person.
Outside of swimming, Doug works as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at a skilled nursing facility in Brockport, NY. He and his wife, Hannah, live in Brockport with their two cats, Batman and Robin. In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, traveling, golfing, and camping in the Adirondacks.

Coach Matt is a lifelong Rochester swimmer who began with the Irondequoit Gators, swam for Irondequoit High School, and later competed at Nazareth College as a distance freestyler and flyer. After college, he coached the Gators for nine years and then spent five years with Marlins Swimming, serving as head coach for the last two. He has also coached for both East and West Irondequoit school districts, working with athletes of all ages—from first-time swimmers to an Olympic Trial qualifier.
Matt’s philosophy is technique first, helping swimmers improve efficiency while reducing injury risk. Outside the pool, he works as an associate teacher for Monroe #1 BOCES and enjoys family life with his wife and their two children. He is also a Level 2 ASCA coach.
