Rays Invite Meet Recap
Over the weekend 54 Seahawks braved the cold on their way over to Mason for their February Invite. We were able to drop a combined 1184 seconds over 311 swims! With 38 of those being the first time swims. With championship season and taper approaching it was awesome to see 75% best times, and so many swimmers executing their gameplans and details exquisitely.
Thank you parents for all you did to keep your swimmers warm & full on that chilly pool deck. Also thank you to our parent officials for helping out. We appreciate all of your contributions, big or small, to help our swimmers be great!
Over the weekend we had a LOT of swimmers try the 200 fly for the first, second or millionth time, members of the 200 Fly squad include, Andrew Caldwell, Aidan Hackett, Cohen Johnson, Everett Preston, Sammie Morrow, Julia Ridgeway, AJ Ridgway, Ava Zugelder, Juliana Zugelder, Ayla O’Rourke & Ellie Alfieri. Great job y’all!
Also an extra shoutout to Everett and Ellie, who not only swam the 200 Fly on Sunday, they also swam the mile (1650) on Saturday!
Swimmers of the meet
Julia Ridgway: Julia’s consistent hard work and positive attitude at practice shined this weekend when she crushed her first 200 fly and 400 IM with a smile on her face, while also going multiple best times in the 50 Fr and getting her first 13-14 Jr Champ cut! Great work Julia!
Lucy Mathys: Lucy did a great job translating her corrections from practice into her races, and crushed the personal bests she brought into the meet, and set 3 new ones in events she tried for the first time. Her positive demeanor and attitude make her a pleasure to be around on deck.
