Parent Responsibilities

Financial- parents are responsible for meeting all financial commitments to the team. These commitments take the form of registration, membership (both team and USA Swimming), fundraising, swim meet deposits and entry fees, and those fees generated by failure to meet work commitments.

Fundraising- aside from the three home meets, WAVE has  one mandatory fundraisers and 1 optional:

Splash-a-thon.  It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure funds received as the result of pledge drives (or the amount of $250 per swimmer) are collected and turned in upon completion of the Splash-a-thon which is generally held in April or May. 

 

 

Kroger Cards  (Optional Fundraiser)
WAVE is registered with the Kroger Rewards program.   Kroger will give back a percentage of what you spend at Kroger to the non-profit organization of your choice. If you don’t already have a Kroger card, you will need to go to the service counter of any Kroger and sign up for one (you get it immediately). Once you get your card (or if you already have one), you can register it at the Kroger Community Rewards website:  www.krogercommunityrewards.com
 
It is very easy to do (see below for instructions on how to enroll). If you have friends or family that shop Kroger’s and they aren’t participating in the Community Rewards program already, have them sign up too. The small percentage we get back from Kroger goes right to WAVE to help keep other costs from going up.

How to Enroll: Kroger Community Rewards

Step 1: type www.krogercommunityrewards.com into browser

Step 2: Click on "Create an Account”   or if you have account already go to Step 8

Step 3: Fill out Email and password

Step 4: Use Kroger card # or alternate ID, phone number, and fill out the information. If you get and error you will have to call the 800 number provided to sort out what is wrong with the information provided.

Step 5: Provide your zip code to find your local Kroger

Step 6: Click on Create Account

Step 7: You will then be sent an email from Kroger confirming your account. This could take 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 8: Once you have confirmed your account please log onto the website

Step 9: Click on the My Account Tab

Step 10: Go to the Community Rewards tab and click edit

Step 11: The organization name is Kettering City Swim Team or Organization # LL170

Step 13: Click on “Save Changes”

Step 14: Scroll over the page and make sure all information is accurate.

Step 15: You are now registered!!!!

PLEASE NOTE:  These elections expire every April and you will need to go through the process again to re-designate KCST to receive the benefits of your Kroger shopping.

 

Volunteering- Membership in WAVE implies a willingness to assist with the many functions required to successfully run a swim team. Most are not hard to do and require a minimum of time commitment.

One parent or guardian from each family will be required to sign the WAVE PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES CONTRACT
