The Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion was dedicated October 14, 2005 and is home to The Ohio State Buckeyes men’s and women’s varsity swimming and diving, varsity synchronized swimming, and the Buckeye Aquatic Academy, including the Ohio State Swim Club and Ohio State Diving Club.
Considered one of the finest competition pools in the nation, the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion provides a venue for some for the fastest times and most rewarding aquatic event experiences in the country.
The Pavilion, located within the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) in the heart of campus, consists of the Mike Peppe Natatorium, the Ron O’Brien Diving Well, and the Dive Spa.
The Ron O'Brien Diving Well, home to the springboard and platform training area of the Ohio State Diving Club, is one of the finest diving facilities in the world. The well contains seven one-meter springboards and four three-meter springboards along with 1, 3, 5, 7.5, and 10 meter platforms.
All levels are equipped with a "bubbler system" that allows new dives to learn over a large, soft pad of bubbles. The pool also has a safety spotting harness over one of the three-meter springboards. The 12 person hot tub makes it easy to stay loose and comfortable.
