Ohio State Diving Club Wins Team Competition at Junior Nationals

Greensboro, NC - While diving is mostly an individual sport, this year’s Junior National Championships placed some emphasis on good old-fashioned teamwork.  Many individual honors were awarded throughout this week’s competition.  However, the final awards presented were to this year’s team champions.

The 2012 Junior National overall team champions were the divers of Ohio State Diving Club with a total of 294.00 combined points. Second place went to GC Diving with 182.50 points, Longhorn Aquatics received third with 162.50 points, fourth place was awarded to Mission Viejo with a score of 133.50 and fifth went to YCF Diving Team with a total of 106.00 points.

The Junior Nationals girls team champions were the ladies of Longhorn Aquatics with 141.50 total points. As for guys, it was the gentlemen of Ohio State Diving Club who took home this year’s boys team honor with 157.00 total points.

An award was also presented to the team with the most points from both Junior Nationals and Age Group Nationals. This honor went to Ohio State Diving Club with a total score of 311 points.

A special congratulation to these teams as well as all of the teams who competed in this year’s championships!
