Team USA set to compete at FINA World Junior Diving Championships

September 8, 2014USA Diving NewsUSA DivingCompetition at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships begins Tuesday, September 9 and continues through Sunday, September 14 in Penza, Russia.

Eighteen divers will be competing for Team USA, led by team co-captain Jordan Windle (Morrisville, N.C.), who will be competing in four events. Windle will compete in all three individual events in group A (16-18) and will also compete in synchronized 3-meter with Cameron Thatcher (Powell, Ohio).

Andrew Capobianco (Holly Springs, N.C.) will compete in all three individual events in group B after sweeping the 14-15 age group at last month’s junior nationals.

Five others will compete in two events. Co-captain Sarah Bacon (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Olivia Rosendahl(Los Angeles) both will dive 1-meter and 3-meter in girls’ Group A competition, while Henry Fusaro(Scottsdale, Ariz.) will dive both those events in boys’ Group A. Nikki Watters (New Albany, Ohio) will compete both individual springboard events in girls’ Group B. Emily Grund (Keller, Texas) will also compete in Group B 3-meter and will pair with Mackenzie Willborn (Flower Mound, Texas) in synchronized 3-meter.

Rounding out the team are Ben Bramley (Wellesley, Mass.), Grace Cable (Winter Park, Fla.), Josh Davidson(Tomball, Texas), Camryn Hidalgo (Mission Viejo, Calif.), Christo Law (San Antonio, Texas), Maggie Merriman (Orlando, Fla.), Delaney Schnell (Tucson, Ariz.), Brooke Schultz (Cicero, Ind.) and Colten Young(Coto de Caza, Calif.).
