Blue Dragons Swim Team- Oregon

Welcome!

This thriving and dynamic non-profit organization has rapidly evolved from the merger of the Lionfish and Blue Dolphins swim teams in September 2023.

Since our inception, the Blue Dragon Swim Team has experienced remarkable growth. What began with 25 swimmers has expanded to over 45 enthusiastic and dedicated swimmers and families. This surge in participation reflects the team's commitment to excellence, both in and out of the pool.

One of our proudest achievements is the breaking of 16 team records since the merger. This success not only showcases the talent and dedication of our swimmers but also underscores the positive trajectory of the Blue Dragon Swim Team.

Community service is at the core of our team's values, and we are excited to share that, collectively, we have contributed over 100 hours of community service. As our team continues to grow, so does our desire to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.

Looking beyond our local community, the Blue Dragon Swim Team is embarking on an international service project. This July, we plan to take 15-20 swimmers aged 16 and above to Bali, Indonesia, for 2-4 weeks. Our mission is to provide swim lessons to local youth without access to such opportunities. By expanding our service internationally, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our swimmers and those children in Bali.

As a non-profit organization, the Blue Dragon Swim Team relies on the generosity of supporters like you. Our sponsorship goal by July 2024 is that we can raise $45,000, and we have identified specific areas where your contribution could make a significant impact:

1. Hiring a 3rd part-time coach: With the team's growth, additional coaching support is crucial to providing quality training and mentorship to our swimmers. We have about three new swimmers monthly and need a new assistant coach.

2. Covering the cost of sending kids to Bali: The kids will be doing additional fundraising to cover the cost. Still, we will need other support for any other costs that might arise and to help pay for coaches and adult chaperones. Your support will provide a life-changing experience for our swimmers as they engage in international community service.

3. New electric Timing system for the Dallas Aquatic Center: We host two meets each year, and an upgraded timing system is essential for ensuring fair and accurate competitions. During the high school swim seasons, Dallas and Central high school swim teams also use the timing systems for their home swim meets.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to positively impact the lives of our swimmers and the communities we serve. Your support will not only contribute to the growth and success of the Blue Dragon Swim Team but will also align your brand with our values of community, excellence, and international outreach.

We would be delighted to discuss this further with you and talk more about the details. You may reach us at [email protected] or find us on the pool deck!

Sincerely on behalf of the Blue Dragon Swim team,

Chris Purdy, Head Coach
