Killer Whales Swim Club (KWSC) is a USA Swimming competitive team in the Oregon Swimming LSC (Local Swim Committee) community. For over 40 years, KWSC has increased swimmers' confidence and supported competitive swimmers in and out of the pool in Cowlitz County, WA.
Our swimming groups:
Pre-Competitive: swimmers focus on body position, kick, and competitive stroke technique
Novice: swimmers ready for butterfly and race skills (i.e., starts and turns)
Junior: swimmers refine technique and race skill, learn about conditioning
Senior: advanced swimmers in technique, skill, and conditioning, use goal setting for season focus

How to Join:

Come to the pool Mondays at 5:15 PM. Be sure to bring your suit and goggles; you will swim. Please introduce yourself to a coach and let us know that you are interested in joining the team. Our coaches will help the swimmer get into a starting group and help families get settled. Check the team calendar on our website to ensure we have practice the day you are interested in joining.

New swimmers will need to complete an online registration process. The coaches or a board member will be able to provide information on how to complete online registration. A USA Swimming membership is also required, but is paid managed directly with USA Swimming. Setting up the USA Swimming membership is part of the online registration process. The online registration on the KWSC website provides a link to create a USA Swimming account and membership. Swimmers must complete registration within the first few days of practice.

Discount: Families with two or more swimmers subtract $3.00 per extra swimmer.
Discount: For swimmers registered with USA Swimming as an outreach member are eligible for a $10 discount on the team dues.
Additional Cost:
USA Swimming Membership (required; paid directly to USA Swimming) -- Rates below are for 2024 USA Swimming season.
Options for USA Swimming membership are either a Flex, Premium, or Outreach Membership (explained below).
Flex Membership ($20 annually): The flex membership is designed for kids (12 years and under) who want to experience swimming on a team. This membership includes the options for two swim meets per year. It's perfect for busy families who want to get a feel for the sport and pre-team competition and allow the time flexibility to still participate in other sports or activities.
Premium Membership ($70 annually): The premium membership is perfect for the kid who loves swimming on a team. This membership allows kids (and families) to unlock all the premium benefits, including unlimited swim meets, Splash magazine four times per year, team recognition programs, scholastic recognition programs, access to camps, and so much more!
Outreach Membership ($5 annually): The outreach membership provides unlimited swim meets like Premium, but is for families in low income situations. If you may qualify please see a board member for assistance with the registration process.
Entry Fees: Entry Fees for meets are an additional cost. Meet participation is not required but strongly encouraged. You choose the meets you want to attend in discussion with your coach. A $5.00 Killer Whales Swim Club Meet Admin Fee surcharge is added per swimmer, per day.
