Results
This past weekend CDST competed in the Zone 2 Short Course Championships in Moraga. We had 36 swimmers swim nearly 200 swims and over 100 new best times posted including many new Junior Olympic and Far Western Standards met!
In the 8 and under Girls age group we had 2 swimmers compete. Iris Gallagher swam a new best time in the 25 yard breaststroke while Andrea Wong had 4 new best times including a new A time in the 100 Free!
On the 8 and under boys side, we had 6 swimmers compete. James He posted 3 new best times. Phillip Nguyen had 4 new best times including a new A time in the 100 Free. Gabriel Palacio had 2 new best times and Raphael Palacio had one new personal best. Michael Thompson had a strong meet posting five new best times including a new A time in the 50 Free. Michael Wang posted 2 new best times.
Six young ladies swam in the 9-10 Girls events. Sophia Balmaceda posted three new best times including a new Junior Olympic standard in the 50 Free. Lilly Gallagher posted 2 new personal bests and Clarissa Kung had two new best times as well. Keerthana Raghuraman posted new best times in two events. Shreya Ramani had a perfect meet posting three out of three best times. Suri Yu continued her strong improvements posting 3 best times including two new Far Western Standards in the 50 Fly and 100 IM.
The ten and under boys had 6 swimmers. Clayton Lau posted two new PB’s. Mars Lu had a fabulous meet posting 7 out of 7 best times with a new far western standard in the 100 Free and a new PRT (Pacific Reportable Time) in the 50 fly! Andrew Nguyen also had a perfect meet posting 7 new best times including a new JO time in the 200 Free and Far We3stern times in the 100 free and 50 fly. Eric Wu had 4 new best times with new JO times in the 50 free and 200 free and a new far western time in the 50 Back. Alexander Zhou had two new best times. Nathan Zhou had three best times with a new A time in the 100 free and the 50 Breaststroke.
We had two swimmers in the 11-12 girls events. Jessica he posted two new PB’s and Suchitra Narayanan also had two new best times including a new A standard in the 50 Free.
There were three swimmers entered in the 11-12 boys age group. Sebastian Chao had two new PB’s with a new A standard in the 50 free. Kevin Cui had 3 new best times and Matthew Wang posted one new A time in the 50 Free.
Three swimmers competed in the 13-14 girls category. Antoinette Acosta had three new best times. Jena Hee had a perfect meet going three for three with a new A time in the 100 Breast. Emily Wang had three best times with a new A time in the 200 IM.
Four boys swam in the 13-14 age group. Eric Lee had three new best times including a new Jo standard in the 200 IM. Andrew Lou posted 4 new best times. Chris Yu had a strong meet posting 6 new PB’s and Cedric Zhou had 3 new PB’s.
Four boys swam in the 15-16 age group. Nicholas Kung had best 2 new best times and Michael Sui also posted 2 new best times. Andy Wang swam two for two, David Zhou had a strong meet as well posting 5 new lifetime bests.
Our relay teams were also great! The ten and under girls team of Sophia Balmaceda, Lilly Gallagher, Suri Yu and Clarissa Kung won both the 200 medley and freestyle relays!
Our eight and under boys swam to second place in both the 100 medley and 100 freestyle relays. Team members were: Michael Thompson, James He, Phillip Nguyen and Michael Wang.
The 10 and under boys continued their strong relay performances with two first place finishes! Team members were: Andrew Nguyen, Eric Wu, Mars Lu and Alex Zhou.
The 13-14 boys team of Cedric Zhou, Eric Lee, Chris Yu and Andrew Lou had a 4th place finish in the 200 medley relay and a 6th place in the 200 freestyle relay.
The 15-16 boys relay of Michael Sui, Hairo Guo, David Zhou and Nicholas Kung had a 7th place finish in the 200 Medley relay.
