Vanessa Kuo, 11, California Dolphin Swim Team (PC): Similar to Delev, Kuo competed in the long course 1500 free for the first time at the Zone 1 South May Firecracker 5 meet in Morgan Hill, Calif., and made some noise with an impressive swim of 18:53.83. The performance ranks her 1st this season among 11-year-old girls by over 40 seconds (and 5th in the 11-12 age group), and since 2020, it’s the 6th-fastest time we’ve seen from an 11-year-old. Kuo also set an official best time of 4:53.48 in the...

However, this year, we have our Senior, Justin Ely, bringing the young squad to the Sectional with a historic entry number of swimmers. Our young squad, including first-time qualifiers to Sectional cuts, Jingxuan Li(14), Benjamin Lee(13), Asher Song(13), and Yongjian Zhang(16). We also have the debut of the...

At this meet, swimmers not only received their best times, new time cuts, and season bests but also learned how to face the difficulties of the meet. Justin had his best times with significant cold symptoms at the meet. Sophia re-bounced from an unexpected backstroke ledge accident, made it to finals, and received her 1st Futures Cuts in 100 Back. Eric returned strong and swam his fastest...
