Greetings CDST Families, Happy Spring to All! It was a cold and wet Winter, but as a Team we overcame the elements and did our best with the Short-Course Swim Season. In the past couple of Months, CDST has experienced many successes. Including the 2024 Zone 2 Championships where Swimmers achieved personal best times, and qualified for the Pacific Swimming Zone All Star Meet, Age Group Championships, and Far Western Swim Meets. Hello parents and swimmers, On March 15, the 2024 spring Age Group Championships, hosted by SBA, were a great success for our team. The California Dolphins Swim Team had 15 swimmers and a total of 108 events. Over the course of three days, our team acquired 10 AAAA times, 34 AAA times, 30 AA times, 16 A times, 15 BB times and 3 B times. Edward Huang represents CDST racing this week at the nation's highest 18&U meet, Winter Junior Nationals, in Westmont, IL. He brought up a stunning performance on the first two days of his racing. Finished 15th in 50 Freestyle on the first day of finals and improved his PB to 20.26. The second day was the most challenging for him to have doubles in 100 fly and 100 back. CDST swam at the AAA Swim Meet in Albany on October 28th & 29th. Overall, Swimmers did very well, and there were less DQ slips at the Meet. This is showing that swimmers have been working hard at cleaning up the details in their daily practice habits, and competitive races skills. With the new season going well, we want to acknowledge our CDST top performers at the end of summer champion meets! During our first week of summer break, three age group swimmers representing Pacific Swimming competed at the Western Zone Age Group Championships at Boise, ID. Amazing smiles, Amazing races, Amazing performances! The 2023 Summer Championships in Hollister, California, was a success for CDST. July, 7th-9th, I witnessed beautiful displays of team support, triumph over personal goals, and victories. Elite Group Swimmers Medha Raghuraman, Justin Ely, Edward Huang, Eric Meng, Leo Gao, Ethan Gallagher, and Ryin Ruaboro had great travel meet at Summer Sectional in Fullerton, CA.
