California Dolphin Swim Team Shines at Spring Championships

 

Spring Age Group Championships (March 14–16, 2025 – Pleasanton, CA)

 

The California Dolphin Swim Team (CDST) delivered an outstanding performance at the Spring Short Course Age Group Championships, held at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center in Pleasanton. Competing against 50 other teams, our swimmers showcased their dedication and talent, culminating in a 10th-place finish overall with a combined team score of 298 points. 

 

Highlights from Our Athletes:

    •    Vanessa Kuo: Dominated the competition, securing first place overall and earning the High Point award with an impressive 77 points.

    •    Justin Huang: Demonstrated consistency and skill, accumulating 62 points to place fifth overall.

    •    Sophia Gallagher: Excelled in her events, scoring 34 points and achieving a fifth-place overall finish.

    •    Ella Zu: Contributed 24 points, securing the 11th position.

    •    Jacqueline Kuo: One of the youngest competitors, earned 9 points and placed 17th.

    •    Jayden Lee: Added 9 points to the team’s total, finishing 28th.

    •    Vincent Huang & Maximus Wang: Both showcased determination, each earning 5 points and tying for 36th place.

    •    Dhivashree Kesavan: Displayed strong performances, garnering 12 points and placing 24th.

    •    Andy Bi: Contributed significantly with 17 points, finishing 21st overall.

 

The three-day event was filled with remarkable swims and personal bests. Our athletes’ unwavering commitment and positive mindset were truly inspiring. Let’s continue to strive for excellence and keep our goals in sight!

 

 

Pacific Swimming Short Course Far Western Championships (April 3–6, 2025 – Pleasanton, CA)

 

CDST continued its streak of excellence at the prestigious Pacific Swimming Short Course Far Western Championships, hosted once again at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center. Facing fierce competition from 80 teams, our swimmers rose to the occasion, securing a commendable 9th-place overall finish. 

 

Standout Performances:

    •    Vanessa Kuo: Achieved a gold and a silver medal, contributing a remarkable 847 points to the team’s total. Her exceptional mile swim not only earned her the top spot in California       but also ranked her sixth nationally—a testament to her dedication and prowess.

    •    Dhivashree Kesavan: Secured two silver medals, amassing 753 points and showcasing her competitive spirit.

    •    Sophia Gallagher: Added a silver medal to her accolades, contributing 779 points and demonstrating consistent excellence.

    •    Andy Bi: Achieved the coveted Quad A time standards in the 500, 1000, and mile events, highlighting his endurance and commitment.

 

The Far Western Championships are known for their high level of competition, and our swimmers’ achievements are a reflection of their hard work and determination. As we celebrate these accomplishments, let’s continue to support and motivate each other in pursuit of our goals.
