2025-2026 Season Welcome Newsletter

Anna Gainey-Vejar

Season Greeting to all CDST Swimmers & Families,

Happy Fall everyone, we are officially 8 weeks into our 2025-2026 Swim Season, and things are going swimmingly!  As a Team CDST has started out strong.  We have worked diligently to be consistent in our efforts and be flexible and accommodating to changes, and obstacles.  October 6th, was Coaches Appreciation Day, and we would like to especially recognize our Head Coach, Coach Chen who we are all so very grateful for.  Coach Chen has led us in being able to accommodate our rapidly growing Team, while also dealing with scheduling, and facility challenges.  With his dedication and leadership we have been able to maintain our higher level standard of Swimming for our Year-Round USA Swim Club.  We would also like to recognize ALL of the very important Group Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches.  All CDST Coaches play a special role in the Team’s overall success.  Each Coach genuinely shares their own unique love, and perspectives on Swimming with our surrounding Swim & Aquatic Communities.  Thank your Coaches when you get the chance, because they truly appreciate the opportunity they get to play a positive role in our Society.

Switching gears, CDST Swimmers and Families have also done their part at getting back into competitive routines that have helped us all start even stronger than the last Season.  A special recognition to ALL who have been on the ball in signing-up for Meets, and helping out new CDST Club Members get situated.  These efforts help make things flow smoothly, while continuing our progress from last Season.  By winning 1st and 2nd at last Year’s Zone 2 Championships, & qualifying many CDST Swimmers in Individual and Relay Events at Age Group & Farwestern Championships we have proven to be a Power House within Pacific Swimming .  With that being said, we are also extremely grateful for our Home Pool at Ohlone College, and we continue to be good tenants, who respect the facility by following the rules that help keep us all safe.  Remember to follow drop off regulations and exit routes while also treating the facility like it’s our 2nd Home!

This past weekend CDST hosted our first C/B/A Swim Meet, where Swimmers competed in all individual events from 25-yard Freestyle, to 500-Yard Freestyle events.  A special thank you to Parent Volunteers, and Officials for helping to make our Meet a Success.  CDST would also like to congratulate our Gold 1 Swimmer Jacqueline Kou, who set a Pacific Swimming Record in the 8 & Under Girls 50-Yard-Freestyle event with an impressive time of 28.84.  She is also currently ranked first out of all USA Swim Clubs 8 & Girls, in 500-Yard Freestyle with an awesome time of 6:05.70.  Great Job and keep up the hard work Jaqueline!  And last but not least Elite Swimmer Joseph Miao qualified for Futures in the 100-Yard Breaststroke event with a new Personal Best time of 57.60, at the LAC C/B/BB swim Meet.
