CDST 2025 Summer Newsletter
Greetings CDST Swimmers and Families,
CDST Swimmers are finishing the Swim Season with many highlights to reflect on, and finishing strong at the Long Course Faw Westerns Championships this weekend. In July 2025 CDST sent the most swimmers in CDST History to Age Group Championships, Summer Sectionals, and Zone 2 Championships. Swimmers in all Age Groups represented CDST in Individual and Relay Events at highly competitive competitions. This is a huge accomplishment for CDST Swimmers, as some of them also earned Futures Championships qualifying times, which is one of the most competitive meets of the Year. This is a great sign of growth and progress that shows CDST has continued to reach our goals, and lead by example in practice, while also setting the tone for Championship level competitions.
This Season there have been many accomplishments to be noted. We have continued to host Age Group Swim Meets at Ohlone, helping to showcase CDST’s Swimming competitiveness in the Bay Area. CDST would also like to highlight our 2025 High School Swimmers who swam very well during the High School Spring Season. The Team’s Groups have all drastically improved their abilities, and have shown that CDST is a Year-Round Swim Program that helps to prepare High School Swimmers to achieve their High School Swimming goals at League Championships and North Coast Section Championships.
This past Month CDST celebrated our Gold 2 Coach, Ryin Ruaboro’s last day of practice. Ryin swam for CDST for many years and then continued to share his love for Swimming and CDST by Coaching and giving back to younger Swimmers in many ways. He truly inspired our Team by helping others become great at swimming and gain an appreciation and love for the sport. We wish him the best in his future College and Life endeavours, and are extremely grateful for his contributions to CDST and love for the Sport of Swimming.
Furthermore, there have been many excellent CDST Swimmer and Team achievements since the start of the Swim Season. To highlight a few, Benjamin Lee, Asher Song and Yongjian Zhang earned their first Sectional times and Justin Ely earned a Winter Junior National cut in the Long Course 50 Free. Also, Sophia Gallagher, Katherin Chen, Yumo Tao and Jingxuan Li were the first CDST Women’s Relay Team to earn a 400 Freestyle Sectional cut. Sophia Gallagher and Andy Bi were selected to represent CDST at the 2025 Western Zone Age Group Championships happening next week. All the best wishes to our Team finishing the 2024-2025 Swim Season strong, and we hope everyone has a well deserved Summer break and starts back to School. GO CDST!!!
