Zone 2 Winter Short Course Championships at Chabot College on January 31–February 1, 2026.

Ian Huskins

What an amazing display of camaraderie and resilience at the Zone 2 Winter Short Course Championships at Chabot College on January 31–February 1, 2026.

The California Dolphin Swim Team once again rose to the occasion and raised the bar. A huge congratulations to each and every athlete who competed with purpose and focus. Your skills were on full display and recognized throughout the meet. Over the years, our grit and commitment to the sport we love have helped our team grow into one of the top-scoring teams—first in small, then medium, and now large team divisions.

Congratulations to the California Dolphin Swim Team for scoring 3609.5 points and earning 3rd place overall!

A Few Reminders for Future Championship & Qualification Meets
    •    Be prepared for your events: this includes proper warm-ups, warm-downs, hydration, fueling, and consistent practice with correct technique.
    •    We did a great job overall with disqualifications. The few that occurred can easily be avoided. If you are unsure about a process, strategy, or feel nervous, please ask your group coach during practice so we have time to prepare and clarify any uncertainties.
    •    Fantastic job cheering during relay events! The coaching staff would love to see even more team support during individual races as well. We all need encouragement—reach out, cheer loudly, and let your teammates know you’re there for them. Go! Go! Go!

Reminder: If you are an athlete ranked in the top 10 of your age group, your participation in relays is vital and directly contributes to our ability to continue ranking highly in overall team points.

Looking Ahead – Championship & Selection Meet Opportunities

We’d also like to highlight a couple of important upcoming meets. The Terrapins Swim Team Pacific Swimming Short Course C/B/BB Meet (February 20–22, 2026) is a selection meet for the Zone 2 All-Star Team. The California Dolphins Swim Team would love to see more of our athletes attend and take advantage of this exciting championship selection opportunity.

Additionally, the SRVA Last Chance Meet (March 7–8, 2026) provides another great opportunity to race, qualify, and contribute to our team’s continued success. This season marks our fourth year defending our title, and strong participation at these meets plays a key role in keeping that momentum going.

We encourage athletes and families to consider these meets as valuable chances to compete, grow, and represent the Dolphins at a high level.

Keep up the hard work, and a huge shout-out to our High Point holders!
