Junior Olympics Winter Championships Swim Meet Report

The Pacific Swimming Junior Olympics Winter Championships swim meet for 14 and

under (Short Course) was held at Morgan Hill this past weekend. There were over

1,100 swimmers with more than 5,400 entries for the meet. CDST had 15 qualified

swimmers competed in individual events and total of 21 swimmers participating in the meet.

 

Congratulation to all CDST swimmers who swam in the meet! CDST ranked 16 out of 58

teams. Team’s highest honor goes to Kevin Cui who was number 4 overall on the high

point ranking in boys 11-12 Age Group. Tomas Choi was number 24 for the same group.

Andrew Lou ranked number 27 for the boys 13-14 Age Groups. Our boys 11-12 Age Group

did an excellent job in the relays. They finished 2nd place in the 200 free relay, 6th in the

200 MR, and 7th in the 400 free relay.

 

In 10&UN Age Group, we had four swimmers qualified for the meet. Lily Gallagher

posted her two best times; Keerthana Raghuraman, James He, and Jasper Wu

swam well in the meet.

Jessica He had a great meet in 11-12 years Girls Age Group. She made one

consolation final and three best times.

Our 11-12 boys did great. We have five boys participated in individual events. Kevin

Cui had an excellent meet with 8 finals includes four 2nd place finish. Tomas Choi

made final in 2 events he had competed. Alex Zhou made 3 consolation finals.

Matthew Wang achieved 2 new FW, and Andrew Nguyen only swim in one event,

and yet he made a new best time.

 In 13-14 years Boys Age Group. Andrew Lou finished 4th in the 1650 freestyle,

twice in consolations finals and 5 personal best times. Matthew Lee made one

consolation final and 3 personal best times. Ian Gunady had one best time.

Xuankang Pan had strong swim in his event.

We would like to congratulate all swimmers for their great performance at this meet.

Keep working hard and I hope that we will have more swimmers participate in this high

level meet.
