70th Husky Invitational and Junior Olympic

EBA - CDST site had a great time at the winter championship meets, 70th Husky Invitational and Junior Olympic last weekend. 

70th Husky Invitational Swim Meet - Federal Way, WA

This swim meet is a traditional winter senior-level travel meet for CDST and other EBA sites. Husky Invitational is a well-known swimming invitational meet in national wide. It's open to all FINA Federations, USA Swimming clubs, and Collegiate Swimming Teams. This year is the 70th anniversary for Husky Invitational. EBA had 10 swimmers racing in the meet, CDST swimmers are Anthony Lee, Daniel Huang, Hanlin Chen and Jasper Wu. Following are highlights for this meet from CDST swimmers.

Man 50 Y Freestyle - Jasper Wu is the only EBA swimmer made final in this event. His preliminary time was 21.98. This is his personal best time and the 6th CDST swimmer swim 50 Y free under 22 second in team history. 

Man 400 Y Medley Relay - Hanlin Chen split a 49.44 in Freestyle Leg, Anthony Lee split a 59.95 in Breaststroke Leg.

Man 200 Y Medley Relay - The only relay event that EBA man team raced in the Finals among top club teams in national and collegiate teams. The final time was 1:38.60, placed 8th in the Final. Jasper Wu split a 21.59 in the Freestyle Leg.

Man 100 Y Butterfly - Daniel Huang got his personal best 53.12. 

Man 400 Y Relay - Jasper Wu lead-off the relay and got his best 100 Y Freestyle time, 47.98.

Winter 14 & Under Junior Olympic - Moraga, CA

CDST had a total of 5 swimmers in the Winter Junior Olympic. Swimmers were racing under hard weather conditions. Pouring raining on Saturday and freezing temperature on Sunday. However, most of them still did great races at the meet. Following are the highlights for all finalist swimmers.

• 50 Y Butterfly, 31.44, Silver Medal
• 100 Y Butterfly, 1:12.44, Bronze Medal
• 100 Y IM, 1:11.97, Bronze Medal
• 200 Y IM, 2:34.09, Bronze Medal

Ryin Ruaboro - Boy 12-year-old Group

• 200 Y Backstroke, 2:39.13, 10th Place
• 200 Y Breaststroke, 2:42.29, 9th Place

Edward Huang - Boy 13-year-old Group

• 100 Y Backstroke, 59.68, 6th Place
