AAA C/B/BB Meet 11/13-11/14

CDST had a 50 people squad at the AAA C/B/BB meet; the largest group of CDST swimmers participated in a swim meet in the past two years. CDST was the largest club team at this meet, and most of the CDST swimmers are from our age groups. We were showing the other clubs at Pacific Swimming, CDST was coming back after 7 years with the most potential of age group swimmers. Below is the link to the photos taken from the meet last weekend, and the summary from each group coach.

Senior Group
by Coach Anna
Senior Swimmers did a great job at representing CDST at the Meet this past weekend.  All swimmers who attended showed positive improvements in technique, time, and personal records.  On day one, the 13-18 year old, Male Swimmers begin the meet with best times in the 200-yard Free event.  Shout out to those Seniors: Ethan Gallagher, Sohan Kale, and Alex Wang.  Alex W. went straight into his next events, the 100-yard Back and the 200-yard IM and earned two more PR’s.  Jennifer Xu, a new 13-year old to Senior Group, also swam a best time in the 200-yard IM.  On day two, Alex W. started the day with a PR in the 200-yard Backstroke event. And then also in the 200-yard Breast event; along with Seniors, Ethan G., and Winton Tsai. Jennifer X. also continued to earn a PR in the 100-yard Fly.  Swimmers Sohan K., Anthony Tom, Winston T., and Alex W., also represented CDST very well in Yellow & Blue swim caps in the 100-yard Fly. To finish off the Day Swimmers Jennifer X., and Angeline Ho swam best times in the fastest event, the 50-yard Free.  Go CDST Ladies!!  Also, Sohan K., Winston T., and Alex W. finished strong in the 50-yard Free event, showing that CDST Senior Gentlemen really have what it takes to leave it all in the pool! Great Meet everyone!

Platinum Group
by Coach Ian
CDST competed at the Albany Armada Aquatics in a C/B/A meet. I would like to congratulate each and every swimmer on their new time standards and efforts over the past weekend. CDST did an amazing job at warming up as a team before the meet and we would love to carry on this enthusiasm throughout the session. This meet was a great learning process for those swimmers, who are just being introduced into the competitive swimming world. For many student athletes, this meet was both a time to test the swimmers' skills and to set a baseline for the training. CDST’s platinum group had amazing energy, team camaraderie, and most importantly, the enthusiasm to achieve their best. Thank you to all the swimmers for relaying your heat and lane assignments, warming up and down before and after events, and for rallying around fellow swimmers to cheer them on. Overall, we had some fantastic, energetic, and intense races over the weekend with hardly any disqualifications. This will help CDST to prepare for our next meet. Great Job everyone and keep up the hard work! It will pay off! If any student who wants to go over any race with me please let me know, otherwise, we will discuss the specifics over our next practice. Again, what an amazing job over the weekend and remember excellence isn't given, it's earned.

As a side note, I would like to give a few shoutouts and show the Jo times goals for those great events!

Gold & Silver Group
by Coach Lei & Coach Lawrence
Our Gold and Silver group performed well for their first meet of the season. The meet was conducted very quickly, but nearly no one missed their events. Thankfully, most of the swimmers showed up to the meet on time and were able to complete a good warm-up before the meet started. The swimmers also did a good job with warming up and warming down before and after their events. Most of the swimmers that came to the meet were very excited to show off what they had learned during practice. Many of the swimmers from the Gold and Silver group were also swimming events for the first time. There were a few DQs during the meet, but most of our swimmers managed to get by without any incidents.  Overall, it was very nice to see our younger swimmers competing in the water again after the summer. They all did great and tried their best during the tiring 2-day meet.

Gold Group
Tai Ram Liu swam a new personal record in the 100 free, with a 1:19.57. Sydney Garcia and Aanya Mital also got new personal bests in the 50 free, with 36.08 and 35.95, respectively. Rhea Nayagam also performed very well during her 100 breast, with a 1:35.71. Arjav Mullick and Aaron Ely swam the most events out of any swimmers in the Gold group over the course of the 2 day meet. They were very tired towards the end, but they continued to push through, showing good determination. There was a very good job done by the 8 and under swimmers in the Gold group as well. Heber Sun and Teah Sun swam very well during the 100 free and 50 back. Avery Garcia did exceptionally well during her 100 IM with a 1:50.13, even though her goggles fell off! Last but not least, Zining Luo swam the 400 IM for the very first time. He did a great job swimming one of the most difficult events during the first meet of the season.

Silver Group
Shivani Venkatesan swam a 3:28.53 in the 200 free, which is a very difficult event to swim, and also was the very first event of the meet. She also did a very good job swimming the 100 back for the first time, with a 1:49.14. Elaine Zhou and Joshua Yu also swam very well during the 100 free afterwards, with a 2:01.07 and 1:43,35, respectively. William Xu did a new personal best in the 50 free, with a 38.68. Prisha Agarwal also did a personal best in the 100 breast with 2:08.93. Thiago Preciado swam very well during the 100 back with a 2:09.45, and he also competed in many other events over the course of the weekend.
