SRVA C/B/BB Meet 12/11-12/12

CDST had 68 people enter last weekend's SRVA C/B/BB Meet at San Ramon. Many of them were the first time at the USA Swimming Meet. It wasn't great weather for the swimming meet; however, CDST swimmers showed their strength and were not afraid of any cold wind and rain. Most of them did the best times and gained many meet experiences. Below is the link to the photos taken from the meet last weekend and the summary from each group coach.

Over The past weekend, CDST swam at the SRVLA SCY CBA swim meet. We did a great job of representing CDST despite the cold and rain. Every swimmer had prepared for their warm-up of this meet in the prior week. Be sure when an upcoming meet is approaching, student-athletes know their events to help with anxiety and per race jitters. I am pleased students were ready and on time to enter the warm-up pool as a team. Let CDST continue with these efforts because it will help to create unity. Thank you for relaying your heat and lane assignments and checking in at the end of each race.

Overall it was a great meet. However, I do want to remind everyone that safety is number one. When we are swimming at a new pool, it is important to know the depth of the pool. It is imperative that we don't get distracted or forget about the depth. Please be safe and remember there are different dives for different depths.

I saw lots of cheering and support for CDST swimmers during the races. Keep it up because everyone at some point needs a bit of cheer. Remember, swimmers, not just the coaches or parents that can help build a strong foundation in practice or meets, but your friends and teammates. GO, GO, GO, CDST!!!

Gold & Silver Group
By Coach Lei & Coach Lawrence
Many swimmers from the Silver and Gold groups attended the meet at San Ramon. Despite the harsh weather, our swimmers competed very well and many new best times were achieved.  All the swimmers that attended the meet did a great job overall. Many swimmers achieved new best times and tried new events. There were much less DQs than the last meet, so it means our swimmers are doing a good job of listening and learning from their own mistakes. It is good to see such improvement from our young swimmers in just a few months from starting the swim season.
