RHAC C/B/BB Meet Summary
RHAC C/B/BB swim meet was a great opportunity to see where we need to work harder to improve individually, as a group, and as a team. CDST had a great number of swimmers who signed up for this meet, and many swimmers who were experiencing their first USA Swim Meet. There were also many DQ slips received by Coaches from the Officials this weekend. In regards to these disqualifications, swimmers should remember that this is a good time to make mistakes, so that we can learn from them early on in the Season, and to embrace the need to correct ourselves in practice. DQ’s are where we have room for improvement, and swimmers should embrace learning from their mistakes. Age Group swimmers should focus on their listening skills which will increase their ability to soak up swim knowledge and apply better technique in practice, while staying focused on the goal of improving endurance, ability to race, and overall times. A special thank you to all the Parent Timers and Officials who represented CDST at the Meet.
Here are some highlights from CDST Swimmers:

From Coach Ian:
Hello Parents and Swimmers, I want to thank all the families who participated in last weekend’s swim meet. CDST did an amazing job refining their skills for future meets. However, there was a high number of disqualifications handed out. The meet was a training ground for new Officials to learn what to look for in disqualifying events. This could be a result of an increase of participants and new meet attendees. On the flip side, some of the disqualifications coaches saw directly reflect some negative practice habits. We will continue to learn and focus on correcting these negative habits. Platinum group, we will review the disqualification slips to understand what the Officials will be enforcing. I am happy to see such great races over the weekend. For those swimmers who did not drop the time they were looking for, it is ok. Just remember every race is not your best, however, every race can show you a better path for the next race. You just have to be willing to work on negative practice habits. Congratulations to those swimmers who hit their Personal Best ! Every student had amazing time drops, scored points for the team, and did well in the rankings. I want to give a few shout outs (see below)! GREAT JOB AND KEEP IT UP!

From Coach Felice:
There were many new and experienced swimmers who competed at the meet this past weekend. For some swimmers, this was their first ever swim meet. For others, they were able to achieve a Winter Junior Olympic Championships cut or a new personal record. The overall performance from the swimmers showed how much more work is still needed for furthering growth and improvements. Consistency, repetition, refinement, focus, and quality are the main take-aways from the meet. To excel in races with confidence means to keep the five take-aways in mind at all times during practices.
