2024 Spring Newsletter

Greetings CDST Families,

Happy Spring to All!  It was a cold and wet Winter, but as a Team we overcame the elements and did our best with the Short-Course Swim Season.  In the past couple of Months, CDST has experienced many successes.   Including the 2024 Zone 2 Championships where Swimmers achieved personal best times, and qualified for the Pacific Swimming Zone All Star Meet, Age Group Championships, and Far Western Swim Meets.  Congrats to all the hard working Swimmers achieving these goals.  Shout out to the 6 CDST Swimmers who attended the All Star Meet, and helped Zone 2 win the Trophy for the third-year in a row.  A special recognition to our Platinum Group Coach, Ian Huskins (aka Captain Fun) who was our leader and Head Coach.

In the past Month, we’ve successfully hosted our first Inter-Squad Swim Meet of the year, and our first ever CDST C/B/BB Swim Meet at Ohlone College Pool.  Swimmers have continued to achieve qualifying times that will take them into the next training phase, in preparation for future high level competitions in the Long-Course Season. Thank you to all our Families for your hard work and dedication in making these important events flow smoothly while showing great Teamwork, and Sportsmanship.  We were able to celebrate all these WINS with an Easter Party, which included Relays, a fun egg hunt, and a Team Breakfast.  A special thank you to all who helped make it a successful bonding experience.

As the Team has grown, Swimmers have experienced more opportunities to improve and compete.  CDST Coaches continue to guide Swimmers in the direction of achieving time standards that make us a competitive force in Zone 2, Pacific and USA Swimming.  Senior and Elite Group Swimmers have also shown to be a fierce influence on the 2024 High School Swim Season.  Good luck to all High School Swimmers working towards achieving goals in the upcoming Mission Valley Athletic League (MVAL) Championships, and North Coast Section (NCS-top 40) Swimming competitions.  Coaches and Swimmers are also looking forward to faster times, personal bests, and records being broken in the upcoming Long-Course Season.  Let’s finish off the Spring and Summer Swimming strong!  GO CDST!!
