2024 Summer Newsletter

Summer Greeting CDST Swim Families,

We are well into the heat of Summer, and Swimming stronger than ever in the practice & race lanes.  There is so much to be said on how hard each of us CDST Coaches, Swimmers, & Parents, have been working and putting our ALL into these Spring & Summer days.  A special thank you to our Meet Coordinators, Group Parents, & Membership Parents for coordinating/ running and assisting Families with Meets, Apparel Orders, Team Events/ Parties, etc.  Also, thank you to ALL Family members who do their part with timing at Meets, transporting canopies, food & monetary donations, etc.  The team has worked cohesively to be successful in all areas, & CDST truly appreciates everyone for their time & efforts!

This year CDST did wonderful at hosting many Age Group Swim Meets at our Ohlone College, home pool.   It has been a huge step in the evolution of the California Dolphin Swim Team.  We are becoming more competitive, and have shown that we can grow with strength in numbers and show Pacific Swimming that we are a serious USA Swim Team with a great Fremont location to host future Meets.

There have also been many excellent swimmer achievements since the start of the year.  To highlight a few, Swimmer Justin Ely achieved a 2023 Winter Junior National cut, & qualified for the Scholastic All American Swimmer.  Divashree Kesavan, Asher Song, and Maximus Wang were selected to the 2024 Western Zone Team.  CDST is also sending the biggest group of Swimmers thus far to the Summer Age Group Championships, Sectional Championships, Far Western and Speedo Championships (National and Jr. National).  As a Team we are very proud of our Swimmers, and we wish them the best at Champs, and the rest this Season!

Elite Swimmer Edward Huang is headed to UC Berkeley this Fall and has committed to Swimming as a Cal Bear.  We are ALL so happy for Edward and motivated by his hard work over the years on CDST.  He is the most decorated Swimmer in CDST History, and we are very proud of his leadership on deck, & in the pool.  Edward continues to be an inspiration for our whole team, and we look forward to watching him & cheering him on in all his future endeavors.  GO EDWARD!!

In June CDST had a great time celebrating our 2024 High School Senior Swimmers with a wonderful Swim Party & Potluck that had some great photo collages of fun and memorable CDST times.  There have been some great Months of CDST Swimming, & there are many Swimmers who deserve a special mention.  Here are the January- June 2024 Swimmer of the Month for each Swim Group:
