Gold's Gym Pool

Gold’s Gym has pool rules to ensure a safe, consistent, and smooth transition to and from the pool for members, swim team, and swim lesson swimmers.

Please note that facility and team rules are subject to change at any time during the season. All Gold's Gym members and Gold's Aquatics Club swim lessons and swim team members shall follow these rules and any others instructed by staff or posted, while they are utilizing the facility.

  • Gold's Gym's (free swim) use of pools/spa/sauna, locker rooms, and gym are for Gold's Gym members.
  • Swim team and swim lesson have access to pool during coached practices, lessons, and events. Swimmers should come to the pool "swim-ready" but may use the family changing rooms/restrooms while at the pool. There is limited space, so we ask that families utilize the rooms quickly to ensure all families have access when needed. If you need to assist your swimmer in the restroom, before or after their practice starts, please talk with a coach before entering the pool deck.
  • Swim lesson families must enter from the lobby and swimmers (and 1 parent per family) will be escorted to the pool deck for lessons.
  • Swim team swimmers must enter the pool from the side pool entrance door. We ask that parents do not enter the deck, unless approved by the coach and/or during an observation day (1 parent per family). We ask that parents do not enter onto the pool deck while practice is running.

Parent Areas at the Gold's Gym Pool

  • Parking lot area outside the pool at the side entrance end of pool.
  • Not on the deck area surrounding the pool or in the Gold's Gym lobby.
  • If you are a member of Gold's Gym, head to the lobby entrance and scan in to use the gym facility while your swimmer practices.
  • Parents are welcome to come visit in designated areas in the pool area during parent observation days. Space is limited so only 1 parent is allowed per family and we ask that you kindly share with fellow parents to ensure all families have an opportunity to observe. Check the calendar for dates.

Parents at Practice

The GAC coaching staff encourages parents to watch practice from time to time. It’s probably not best to watch practice every day nor is it healthy to never come to the pool. The reality of carpooling and transporting young swimmers is that many parents are present every day, though you don’t necessarily need to watch every minute of practice. Here are some important guidelines to keep in mind when observing a practice.

  • First, young swimmers want their parents’ approval more than anything. If they know you are watching practice, it’s only natural for some of their attention to be directed to you. However, for the swimmers to learn as much as possible, it’s imperative coaches have your child’s undivided attention during practice. We ask that you not communicate with your child during practice thus competing with a coach for his/her attention.
  • Second, we insist that parents do not interrupt the coaches on deck while they are coaching. If you need to communicate with a coach, please do so 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after practice or arrange some other meeting time that works for your family as well as the coach.
  • Third, the pool facility is not built for spectators. Unlike many competitive pools, our pool area does not have bleachers or an upper deck for spectators. The entrance also has limited space in the walkways and can become unsafe when there are spectators standing or sitting around. We must keep walkways and the pool deck clear to ensure visibility, decrease the chances of trips, slips, and falls, and gives our emergency response staff the ability to respond to an emergency quickly and properly.
  • We do request that parents drop their swimmers off no more than 15 minutes before practice is scheduled to start and pick them up no more than 15 minutes after practice is scheduled to end. Coaches have responsibilities outside of practice times and may not be available to "watch" swimmers before and/or after scheduled practices. Swimmers who arrive early are to be out on deck. We do not want swimmers outside of any of the facilities at any time during practice unless they are under the direct supervision of a coach at that time.  Swimmers who arrive early to practice should sit quietly on the deck, do their homework, or read a book until practice begins.
