This is a pivotal week here at WEST. We are hosting our first meet of the year this upcoming weekend, and we are starting to prepare to enter the December Championship season.

Holiday Scrip Order
 
The Holiday Shopping Season is nearly upon us! WEST will be placing an order for Fred Meyer/QFC Scrip. Denominations available are $25, $50, $100. This is the only order we will be placing before the end of the year, so plan ahead for holiday and grocery shopping! Please have all orders and payments into WEST no later than Monday, November 28th. Cards will be available the evening of Friday, December 3rd. The larger the order placed, the higher the rebate WEST makes.

Age Group Invite Timeline
 
Our estimated timeline shows morning sessions to be 8a -12p and afternoon sessions 12p - 4p, with the first hour as warmups.  Please use this as a guideline for volunteer shifts as the sessions are shorter than we originally anticipated. If you have any questions, please contact  Pam Williamson.
 
Husky Invite Entries
 
Entries have been completed and posted for the Husky Invite. They are available by clicking the link on the  Swim Team page of the team website.

I've updated the google calendar on the website ( available by clicking here) to reflect practice times during both Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. Here is also a brief summary:

Fri: Accelerate & Challenge 1 & 2 ONLY - 6-9am, Masters 9-11am (no practice for Discover or Explore)

Mon 19th: normal ( holiday party? - maybe no practice for Explore, Discover, Ch 2)
Tues 20th: normal
Wed 21st: normal
Thurs 22nd: normal

Tues 27th through Fri 30th: Accelerate: 8-10:45am (dryland 10-10:45), 4-6:30pm / Ch 1 & 2: 8-10am (9:15-10 dryland), 4-6pm / Discover: 6-7:30pm, Explore: 6:30-7:30pm. (Masters will go 12-2pm on Wed and Fri or they can come in during open swim anytime before 8am)
Sat 31st: New Years Eve Marathon - Accelerate: 7-11am, Ch 1 & 2: 7-10am, Discover & Explore: 10am-12pm
Sun 1st: OFF

Eat, Sleep & Feel Good

 
We want to remind the swimmers to make sure they are getting enough rest, eating properly and start pre-race visualizing. As practices become shorter, it becomes critical that we get more rest to fully prepare our bodies to perform to their potential next month. Consistency is key, we need to make sure we are getting to bed at the same time each night and allowing our body's natural routine to fall into place. Also, as the physical stress of practice is reduced, the mental stress preparing for champs will increase. Try to do something relaxing and fun for yourself if you start to feel overwhelmed and remember to trust your training.
