Team "Mom" Meeting Recap
Hello Everyone,
Here is a review of last night's meeting of the TM minds:
The focus was the upcoming WEST Winter Bash to be held: Monday, December 19. Start time: 6:35pm (immediately following end of Accelerate practice).
All who can will meet at WEST at noon on December 19th for set up and decoration of the facility...swimmers are welcome to help, too! Several swimmers will be making paper snowflakes prior to set-up. If you know of any other swimmers/swimmer siblings/swimmer parents that would like to contribute their paper-cutting talents, please enlist their skills! I will also be picking up streamers, balloons, and other sundry decorations suitable for the occasion.
Tables are a necessity! These will be used for holding the pot-luck contributions as well as for the display of the baskets and their raffle ticket containers. I will double check the number of tables we will have available at WEST already, and see if we need more than those and the tables volunteered by the following:
• Carpenter: 2 large
• Forsberg: 1 large
• Limberg: 1 large
• Chow: 1 small
As this will be a pot-luck gathering we finalized the breakdown of family contributions as follows:
• A-E: Finger-foods/Appetizers
• F-J: Desserts
• K-R: Entrees
• S-Z: Sides
• WEST: Beverages, Plates & Plasticware
We established our donation-raffle basket themes as follows:
• Accelerate: Wine Basket
• Challenge 1: B-day Basket (WEST certificate + Claudine's Cakes certificate)
• Challenge 2: "Sundae" Night Basket
• Discover: Movie Night Basket
• Discover: Breakfast Basket
• Explore A: Game Night Basket
• Explore B: Book Basket
All donations for the baskets will need to be to WEST by Friday, December 2nd. We will assemble them and have them on display at WEST the Thursday before the Bash (Dec 15). We will also be taking pictures of each of the baskets to put on our website (hopefully), in the Observation Room, and on the front door of the facility. I will talk with Trish about displaying them in the front office for the days leading up to the Bash.
We will need 7 lidded containers large enough to hold a good number of raffle tickets. I will check out the dollar store next week and see if they have something we can use.
I have attached a Winter Bash flyer here. Nick will distribute this to the team via TeamUnify and I will work with Trish to ensure that a copy is placed in each family folder as well. I have sent out a form email regarding the raffle to each of the TMs to modify and forward to their group members. This gives a general description of the raffle activity and makes a request for donations (we decided that a $$ contribution was easiest, but product is acceptable). A donation of $1 is recommended for each raffle ticket.
We will also need to put a sign-up sheet in the Observation Room for people to RSVP and give us an idea of what they plan to contribute to the pot-luck.
Alrighty, I think that's it for now. We won't meet again until after the New Year. I think we might collect a few more TMs by them. I've had a number of comments along the lines of "Wow, I didn't know we had Team Moms!" and "Can I be a Team Mom?" Refreshing!
Thanks for all your input. See you round the pool...or at Kamiak this weekend!
