WEST weekly

Good afternoon WEST members,

We've started our final couple weeks of our holiday Championship meets;  We successfully kicked off our December championship season with some outstanding performances both at the 63rd annual Husky Invitational at KCAC and the Divisional championships in Silverdale.  Results for Husky can be found here:

Congratulations to all who attended, you definitely represented WEST well!

This upcoming weekend, we have the 14 and under PNS championships Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday at KCAC for all who qualified.  We had a large number of qualifiers this year (23!).  That is extremely impressive considering we have a team of only 100 people!

The timeline for the PNS 14 and under champs meet can be found here:

Please arrive at least an hour and 15 minutes before the start of the session for warmups, finding a spot to sit, etc.  For those swimming at the meet, please get tons of rest OUTSIDE of the pool!  What you do away from the pool is equally important to what you do in it during a champioships phase of the season.  Wear warm hats outside, coats, warm socks, etc.  Drink lots of water, tea and orange juice!  Eat good food!  Get lots of sleep!

Finally, in other news around the pool separate from swim team, we have decided to close the hot tub indefinitely.  We've had a seemingly endless number of mechanical problems with keeping it running.  The most recent, it seems that we need a whole new heater.  With the limited amount of funds, we would like to take this time to seeing to other more pressing issues getting resolved, starting with getting some heat in the locker rooms!

Again, thank you all for the support of us, and even more important, your swimmers!  They wouldn't enjoy their success without your hard work.

Looking forward to a great couple of weeks.

Sam, Nick and Jordyn
