WEST Weekly

Dear WEST Swimming Fanatics,

Well we did it, we hosted a very successful PNS Long Course Championship Meet! Much thanks to the volunteers that made the meet run as smooth as possible and GREAT JOB to all the swimmers that competed, leaving WEST's mark on Pacific Northwest Swimming.

WEST finished in 10th place overall, a very impressive finish as the teams ranked ahead of us have between 2 and 3 times as many swimmers. We had multiple PNS Champions and a couple High Point Award Winners in addition to many best times and new qualifications. As coaches, we were very impressed with both the performance of our athletes and the hard work and support of our parent volunteers.

Note from Meet Director:

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this weekend’s PNS LC Champs meet a success.  We had 1100 athletes swim as part of 42 teams, nearly 5000 splashes.  We fed over 100 officials and coaches 3 meals a day for 4 days.  It was a huge meet and we can all take pride in being part of the team that made THAT happen.  In addition to helping out with odds and ends, our swimmers had a great showing by placing 10th.  Three cheers for swimmers, coaches and volunteers. 
 
Accounts have now been credited for hours worked.  CHECK your accounts, (by logging into your www.westwimteam.com account, choosing invoice and service hours) as billing for unfulfilled volunteer hours will happen this week.

Summer Break & Fall Start Dates
 
We hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe Summer Break from WEST. We will continue optional practices through this Friday 2-4pm for all groups. We will then go on break until Wednesday, August 29th (optional practices) and officially start back up after labor day on Tuesday, September 3rd (following our normal Fall Schedule as listed in the Registration Packet).
 
Thanks again for a great season! Looking forward to having a break but even more excited to start back up in the fall.
