WEST Weekly
Dear WESTies,
Welcome to the second official week of practices, things are starting to settle in around the pool as we hope the kids are doing in school. This past weekend's Kick Off BBQ was a great success with a great showing of families. Thank you to everyone that came, especially everyone that brought food to share.

Become an Official - Note from Dan Limberg, our Official Chair
There are many reasons why you want to be a Swimming Official:
- great view of the meet
- helps ensure that meets are fair for all swimmers
- great food for officials and coaches
- meet some interesting characters
- WEST needs more officials to host meets (hosting meets helps keep the fees down)
- easiest way to complete the Volunteer requirement
- there is great food.
There are not any reasons why you don’t want to be a Swimming Official. The swimming rules are basic (no requirement to be able to swim), there is great mentorship and we work around your schedule.
The next training session for Stroke and Turn Officials (the basic qualification) is Monday, September 24, at WEST at 7:15pm. The course is $10, and WEST will reimburse you for the course and USA Swimming registration. RSVP to Bob Keller [email protected] and Dan Limberg [email protected].
Contact Dan Limberg (425-583-7672) or other WEST Swimming Officials for more information.
Thank you for volunteering to be part of a great team of officials,
Dan Limberg
Non-Athlete Registration Forms
All board members and WEST Officials need to register with USA Swimming as a non-athlete member. We have printed forms available at the front desk, please complete one and turn it back into WEST so we can pay for everyone and submit them.
Meet Declarations - Due September 30th!
Make sure to log-in to your account and notify us of which meets you can/cannot attend this season. If you don't, we aren't able to enter your swimmer in any meets and the registration closes September 30th.
Ice Early, Ice Often
With the adjustment of getting back into the swing-of-things, be sure to listen to your bodies and ice if you are starting to get sore. We expect the kids to be sore, but be sure to communicate with your coaches if you are experiencing pain or anything out-of-the-ordinary.
Happy Swimming
Nick, Ken, Jordyn, Rachel and Bryan.
